5:2 Diet

  • Has anyone doing 5:2 diet plan? I heard great reviews from amazon and I do not have the books, just did some researched on it and this method suits my lifestyle..

The plan is eating normal for 5 days and 2 days on a 500 calories,..I had started this on Thursday and my 500 calories days are Tue/Wed.

Anyone else doing this...Thank you for any feedback.

    Hi Liliann -

Have you seen Dr. Mosley's video "Eat, Fast and Live Longer?" It's quite interesting, actually. You can google it; it appears all over the internet. It's an hour long and goes into the research behind fasting in general.

I've not had any experience with it personally, although I do think fasting does have some medical benefits. Not sure about weight loss, however. I guess it depends on the individual.

I think trying to do two days back-to-back would be really hard. But ultimately it's up to you. Some people find it easier to do it that way.

I don't think you really need the book - it's basically just as you described. The secret is to not overeat on the non-fasting days. I think when they say "eat whatever you want" on the other 5 days that's very misleading. You would need to eat sensibly the other five days.
