Maybe some help im new!?

  • So I started my diet 4 days ago as well as quitting smoking time to get healthy!!! I’m actually quite excited!! So here’s my question… today for lunch I had an orange banana handful of carrots and 1 celery stalk and a couple dips of fat free ranch veggie dip it was gooooood but I put all the information into my calorie counter on my IPhone and it said that my lunch was almost 400 calories!!! Now I don’t feel like my lunch was that great when I thought it was going to be bc it’s all veggies and fruit … so can someone tell me how much is TO much of something…I started at 200 4 days ago and im now down to 197 I think im eating to less but I don’t feel hungry and im drinking a ton of water and diet green teas with citrus
  • 400 sounds about right for what you ate. Each piece of fruit will have about 100 calories alone.
What do you mean you started at 200? 200 for lunch or for the day !!!???? Dont starve yourself.
  • no no 200lbs sry i should have explained better!!
  • Can you get a copy of Volumetrics or Portion Teller/Saavy? I bet you'd be able to find a wider variety of foods that will full you up and still remain around the calorie range you're looking for. My husband STILL is amazed at the calorie content of food that is needed versus what he would or does eat.

Anyway I wanted to also say welcome to the board
  • Welcome Mbarbar! Eating some fruit is fine but I would be hungry within an hour or two with such high carb and little to no protein. I think you will find eating some lean protein with veggies to be far more filling and you can easily still stay within the 400-500 calorie range. What's your daily calorie goal? I would think it's around 1500 per day so a 400 calorie lunch is a good target.
  • My calorie in take goal is set at 1200 yea I was starving an hour after lunch
