Flavored Water?

  • I've searched the forum and can't find anything on this... Hope this is the right place to post!

    Where flavored water comes into play (sparkling water, Propel, etc.), what's the verdict? Can this be counted in my water consumption for the day? I'm not talking about Crystal Light or other similar drink mixes. I'm talking where there's nothing on the nutrition label except for a little sodium (5mg) which I know isn't good for you, but surely a little for some flavor isn't harmful, right?

    Also just as an FYI, I'm not planning on replacing water with flavored water as I have no problem with plain old water. I have just gotten out of the habit of drinking anything with calories and something flavored to drink sounded good tonight.
  • I know a lot of flavored waters marketed as healthy aren't actually all that great for you, but the way I see it, it's much better to grab one of those than a soda, you know? I'm obsessed with vitaminwater, I think they're great for those times you just need to drink something that tastes good, but make sure not to overdo it cause they can add up.
  • I think they are a nice change when one is craving something a little different. But as the previous poster adviced, just don't overdo it cause 100 calories here and 100 calories there will add up
