Semo, my stuff came UPS.

My youngest starts soccer practice tonight. It only lasts an hour, but enough to throw a kink in the whole evening. And, get this, games are on Saturday mornings at 8am! I'll have to be drag'n 'em out the door by 7:30am....up showering by...ugh!
I'm already mourning my Saturday sleep-ins.

The fresh air today wore me out. Did someone say nap?

Jello 03-24-2003 04:21 PM

OK now Ms. Tiger! You've simply got to stop talking about being outside in this beautiful weather. Are you trying to kill me!?!?

Yeah, that's me with my nose pressed against the office window, whimpering. It ain't pretty.

I want to go outside toooooooo!!!!!!!!! Whine!

Hm, maybe I'll just have to roll down my car windows while I drive to my mammogram today. Ooh. Ahh.

Yeah :cb: makes me think of Tiff too. And where the heck IS Ms. Dyan anyway!?!?!

SEMO 03-24-2003 04:28 PM

Jello, going in for the BIG SQUEEZE....... as much as I hate them, it one of those necessary evils........

Tig, I'ld rather it be 8:00 in the morning instead of 2 or 3 in the afternoon. That really messes up your day. Mine would be one at 8 and the other at 3. What a way to spend a Sat.

Jello 03-25-2003 08:51 AM

OK so the technician and I discussed it yesterday. Just who invented that mammogram machine anyway!?!?! Some MAN I'm sure. Ouch. :headache:

Yeah I realize that smiley was for a headache but they don't have a smiley for what aches on me still today!

Annnyhooo, I decided on the way in to work today that I was going to tell the other "phone girls" that I had to leave early today. Just cuz. ;) So guess who didn't bother to show up for work yet again! So much for Jello's plans. Can you say "doormat"? Oooh, but what goes around comes around I always say. Someday.... Someday....

Ah, but I'm going to try to maintain my good mood anyway. Both Rich and I are entered in a "must be present to win" drawing next Tuesday evening at Delaware Park so we figure we can leave from work, go down and play the slots for a while and, instead of hurrying home because we have to get up Wed. morning for work, we should just stay as late as we want and take next Wednesday off. A much better idea, don't you think?

Guess I'll get to work now. Another of life's necessary evils. Only heard from the boss about five times yesterday (not including the two 6-7 page faxes) so I can hardly wait to see what today brings. :tired:

But the sun is shining. Temperatures are getting up there. I'm wearing a "slightly tight but fit" pair of pants. And I'm in a good mood.

I'm in a good mood. I'm in a good mood..........

SEMO 03-25-2003 09:15 AM

GOOD MORNING! Ahhhhhhh, it's 61 degrees, sun is shinning and it feels good to be alive. I've been up since 4:30, done my exercise and think I am ready for the day. :) Or at lease until someone P!ssssssesssssssss me off! (had ya fooled didn't I)

Naw, it is a beautiful day, even if I have to stay inside it's great and I do feel really good. Jello, good moods all around!

Jello, hope you win big time and enjoy the day off. So the gals always take off when the boss is out. When he calls in say, well, I would ask _______ about it but she's not here AGAIN. Make sure he knows. Hey, I'm not usually a tattle tale but you better hold up for youself and at least let managment know what they are doing AND THAY YOU'RE TIRED OF IT.

Quilter, what are you making at your class? I've got to start making some time to do the things that I love. Life is too short. So what if the furniture needs dusting, it's good protection is what I say! Do I hear a second?

Hi, to the rest of the gang. Today is the last day to run invoices for the month so I gotta run. Have a great day, Ladies.

Can't spell or type today!

Cafe976 03-25-2003 09:59 AM

Good morning, ladies!

Our internet here was having some trouble yesterday, so I missed you all. I love to hear about the spring spirit infecting you all! We need it!

Not too much new with me, except that I have company coming at the end of the week. My husband's buddy from way back. I'm actually nervous about it, and oddly enough kind of paralyzed because I need to be getting READY! and I let myself kind of flake out on the weekend. Granted, I spent most of the day in volunteer work on Saturday and was feeling a little under the weather on Sunday... but... :?:

Other than that, things are pretty okay here. It's beautiful here, cooling off a little though. Maybe it will snow on the California boy by Friday. Naw, I love him, really.

QuilterInVA 03-25-2003 02:55 PM

Semo, I'm teaching how to make a quillow this weekend. I just love to see how different everyone project looks even starting with the same pattern.

A wonderful Spring day today - but rain in the forecast for tomorrow.

Tigerlily 03-25-2003 03:48 PM

Howdy Girls. I can't believe it's only Tuesday. Springbreak, aka Springache! Kids are driving me crazy.
Today, we took the dog(and a baggy of doody) to the vet for her shots and to get summer meds...flea, tick, heartworm....198 bucks later...and all I learned was she weighs a whopping 11.25lbs. :dz: But she's worth it. I tell DH all the time that she is therapy.
After the vet, we went to the grocery store...where my youngest knocked over a display of Little Debbie Snacks  and NO I DIDNT BUY ANY.:D I did buy some no-sugar fudge pops.:s:

I want to learn how to quilt! I have two sewing machines, both given to me. One is probably an antique. Both need to be "serviced". One of these days... I do have a quilt on my bed, log cabin pattern, courtesy of jcpenney.:o

Jello, I've never had a mammogram. Something to look forward to. What age is that fun suppose to start?

Semo, thanks for finding the positive in my early Saturday morning soccer. Your right. Get it up and done, have the whole day free.:twirly:

Happy Spring Chickies! :df:

Jello 03-26-2003 08:16 AM

Tiger, you don't know what you're missing! I'm not sure about what age you're supposed to start. 40 maybe? And then every other year until you're 50 or something like that??? :?: Because of my past history with cancer, I go every year. I'm not exactly sure of what doctors suggest. Anyone?

Well, I didn't get to sneak out early yesterday but I'm thinking maybe today. That is, if anyone actually shows up here to answer phones. On Monday, the co. president had told me he'd have this big typing job for me yesterday afternoon. Somewhere around 3, I got the chance to go over to his office to see if I was still going to get the big project. He'd already gone home!!!! So today, I'm the one leaving early (hopefully :crossed: ) and I don't give a :censored: about his project.

Hey Quilter, do you have any suggestions on washing a hand-made quilt? We have the one that Rich's grandmother made back in 1980-something. It had been all carefully packed up for years but now we've had it hanging for the past year or so and it's getting a little dusty and I'd like to wash it. Rich's mom suggested woolite and the gentle cycle but I'm afraid. :stress:

Well, still working on that good mood for another day. It's amazing how that happens when the boss is gone for a while. What a coincidence! Sun's still shining and it's already 52 degrees out. Supposed to start raining this afternoon but at least it's not snow!

Who said that word!?!?!? :ziplip:

Hope you all have a good one!

QuilterInVA 03-26-2003 08:42 AM

Jello, on washing the quilt. Do you know if the fabric was washed before it was made? Otherwise if there are reds in it, they may run. When I have a quilt to wash, I fill the washer with cold water and add Ivory Snow if I don't have quilt soap (get that at the quilt shop). The horse shampoo is also good. You don't want anything with bleach or bleach alternatives. Agitate, then add the quilt and let it soak for 15 minutes. Wash on the gentle cycle for the shortest time and give it an extra rinse. Do not use fabric softener. Spin. I put the quilt in the dry on NO HEAT for 15 minutes just to fluff it up then hang it on the line outside. If you have a smaller wall hanging, you could put a piece of plastic on the bed and then cover it with towels and lay the quilt out to dry. No need to fluff a wall hanging, they should be flat.

My boss is still gone - finally caught up pretty much.

Cafe976 03-26-2003 09:45 AM

Good morning ladies! Just checking in early. Don't actually have much to say. ;)

Tigerlily 03-26-2003 11:41 AM

hi girls!
I'm taking the boys to the park today and then to Schoops...a 50's style diner with greenriver soda and old fashioned malts.
Jello, good luck getting off work early today.:lucky:

:flow2:

Tigerlily 03-26-2003 03:05 PM

Hellloooo??? anyone out there?
The park was nice, did lots of walking and some hill climbing. :cb:

I added a few photos to my album. Hope I did the url right.
Photos are my boys on crazy hair day, a pic DH took of us at arms length when working downstairs and my Dad with the grandkids.

I told my boys I'd try to take them to a movie today. My 2 boys and a friend. 3 boys. Pretty much sums up what kind of movie I'll get to see. :dz:

I'm off to slice cucumber, cantalop and clean strawberries! If I get it ready this morning, I'm less likely to go for the quick fix junk food. :D

COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!
