Hello,
I had semi successful IF day yesterday. I broke down and had some wine and it made my eating window much longer than I liked. Scale showed a bit larger number: 147. But that was totally expected. I like the new lows after successful 24 h fasts. Meltaway, surfergirl2 and Krystal Welcome!! wvuchick I will keep my :crossed: for you today! I am sure it will read 208 tomorrow! Mizzthingaling Feel better  So much of that going around right now. Mommyof5 I have only done IF for two weeks. It has been incredibly hard to get down to this point. -- I have kept changing my eating plan and exercise plan all the time. -- My biggest thing has been; 3FC's! I have gotten to know some awesome ladies (and gents) and they have kept me going. I would have given up long time ago if I had done this alone. IF seems to be working quite well for me. Looking back, I used to eat like this for years and years without knowing it is a lifestyle. |
Hello to all IFers!!
Hello Italiannie..when I dont eat so well I feel so tired and the day after, hungrier than normal. Welcome Mommytimes five, Im so sorry about your hubby and and tough family situations, hope it all gets better and better for you. I hope that following IF in whatever way you choose goes wonderful for you. We are always here to encourage you. Vanity9 great job on hitting 135! My next minigoal is 140. Sum38 glad your doing better :). Mizzthingaling, good job on your 19hr fast and hope your sinus/cold goes away soon. wvuchick good luck on your fast today. I ended up doing a 24hr fast yesterday, whoohoo!, and ate a big dinner and enjoyed it very much. Today Im gonna do my regular Fast 5 schedule, maybe a 3:30 to 7, since I get home later now...I dont seem to eat after 7pm anymore and its not something I think about, weird but nice. Good luck to everyone!! |
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :) My fast is going well, last night I was out with my mum and she bought something that I really love to eat, and I was able to resist it (cause it was after my feed hours and also loaded with carbs!) and I felt so proud of myself. I got home and had a bottle of water then went to bed feeling good. I'm still fasting now, although I get to eat in an hour, I'm having some chicken salad and crackers as my pre-workout meal.
Have any of you tried fasted workouts? How did it go? |
I haven't been here in over a week because I had decided to go with IE and forget IF, but you know what? It seems that I am automatically doing IF without even trying so, I guess IF must be the way I should be eating. So I will just go for it. I've been experiementing and find that my fasting blood sugar runs between 116 and 118 when I do the 16/8 to 19/5 ratio. So I guess I'm back if y'all will have me.:smug:
I see lots of newbies since I've been MIA so a BIG :welcome3:to all the NEWBIES!!! |
Hi everyone,
I'm still here lurking, reading all your posts and success stories, well done and keep going! I have been sick the past 3 days and have completely lost my appetite and can not taste food, boo!!!! It's just not like me as I haven't been sick for years! I have no idea how much I weigh etc. I have been reading a book called 'eat and stay thin' by Joyce Meyer, which has really challenged me as I was in complete 'bondage' over food. I have conquered my emotional binge eating strong-hold in my life and am now going down the road of self-control and discipline. love to you all xxxxxxx |

Gamesmaster, Pattygirl63, and others.....
I believe that Intermittent Fasting is one type of Intuitive Eating. (Although I know it is a little more planned out.) IF gives us a bit of a structure to help us realize that: 1 - We won't starve to death if our tummy grumbles a little. 2- We aren't really hungry when we often think we are. 3- Healthy foods taste better and help us to feel better than junk. IF becomes our IE, because we are able to tweak it and personalize it. Eventually it becomes second nature and just how we live and eat. This has been my experience, anyway. I love Joyce Meyer. I should pick up that book of hers. Beautiful day we had here in Upstate NY. Birds are singing and flowers beginning to bloom. |
Thanks for the welcome everyone! I have officially started my first fast. I have to tell you, this is the first time in a while I've felt positive about this journey. So glad I signed up and have people to support me!
|
Good luck Mommytimesfive, and remember, it's a journey, and your first fast will more likely be the most challenging - do your best, think positive thoughts and you'll be fine.

My first goal isn't weight so much as it is to get off the diabetic medicine and I believe that will eventually happen. I am so thrilled that we are growing and have such a great support group here. Thanks everyone for being here. |
Thanks for the welcome ladies!
After my fast on Tuesday (16 hrs), I had a feeding frenzy!! Mostly sugar & carbs for HOURS. I like to keep it clean, if possible!! Success nonetheless! I'm not sure when this week I'll attempt another 16. MELTAWAY: I did a heavy lifting workout last night after fasting for about 12-13 hrs. My sugar dropped. I get symptomatic. I ate 4 GU Chomps (90 cals/ 23 carbs) & was able to complete the workout. I'm training for a 1/2 Mary and find it extremely difficult to IF and run 4-5x/week, which is why I try to plan my fasts on a work night! |
Welcome back Patty.
Glad to see your back gamesmaster. I was wondering what happened to you. Hope you feel better soon! I had a good fast yesterday. Got in the whole 24 hours as I was laying wood floors in my closet until 10. Lost .7 lbs, fasting again Friday, then back to Mondays and Thursdays. So that's two more fasts before my official weigh in day. Hoping to hit 208 by then. Onederland here I come! :dancer: Hope everyone has a great day. Tomorrow's Friday, thank goodness! :D |
Meltaway, good job on going to bed, after your fast, and feeling good.
Pattygirl63, good to see u again. Im glad you're figuring out what works best with your body, and you dont have to pick one type of eating over another, you can always do both if that helps you. I hope soon you can get off your medicine! Gamesmaster1, nice to see u and hope you get better soon. I'll have to look up that book Eat and Stay Thin, thank you for sharing. Italiannie, I agree with you on the 3 points on what IF helps us realize about eating and our bodies, love it! K9Owner welcome!! I am eager to hear how your fasts go. Hope everyone enjoys their day!! :dancer: |
Mommytimesfive, we are here as you follow your IF journey, good luck.
Surfergirl2, Im sure you will learn a lot about your body while doing IF and you'll find strength you never thought was there, thats my own experience. wvuchick, great job on your fast yesterday! I ended up doing a 22 hour fast and ate withing a 3hr window, at 4 and 7pm. In reality, wasnt even hungry at 7, but ate w hubby. |
