Xenical Rules... am I wrong?
Hi All,
Im new here, get married this summer and trying desperately to lose weight! Started Xenical 2 days ago and I am finding it OK... no side effects I think the 'rules' I am following are wrong tho.... :?: I have been working out the percentage of the calories from fat and making sure it stays under 30 taking fat gramm X 9 (9 calories in a gram of fat) then dividing by the calories and X 100 = % of calories made up from fat... if its more than 30% i dont touch it, seems to be working ok but I get the feeling I'm reading too much into it! what rules do you follow? |

I lost a lot of weight whilst taking Xenical and I'm please to be able to report that I've not gained any since I stopped taking it last October. I don't think there's anything wrong doing what you are but I looked on it slightly differently in that rather than each individual item I took the 30% of calories from fat to be over the whole day. So for example on a 1500 calorie a day diet upto 500 calories could come from fat. At 9 calories a gramme that would make a total of around 55g of fat a day which for me was shared out between 3 meals and 2 snacks with my evening meal having a slightly higher proportion of fat (say upto 20g) than at breakfast or lunch. This way I can have some high fat items in small quantities that have a higher proportion of calories from fat for example olive oil and peanut butter. I found Xenical to be a wonderful tool for me as eating low fat suits my lifestyle well. I've lost a total of 125lbs about 100lb of that over the two years I was taking Xenical. Kitty |
