Another good website

Another good website is www.zonehome.com. It also has several recipes and best of all it has a listing of all the fast food and frozen foods that are zone compatible. Yes, yes, I know it is better to eat fresh, but sometimes the portion control and convenience of a Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine really works out for a quick dinner or even lunch. This listing gives the nutritional breakdown along with the blocks. It also give the block breakdown for fast food like Wendy's chicken sandwich or Light Tacos from Taco Bell. I try not to eat fast food but I drive alot for my job and sometime fast food is all that I have time for.

I finally went out for a walk on Sunday night. It was great - should motivate myself to go out and walk again. Will sign off now to put on my walking shoes!

O-Zone layer

Thanks for the tip on the website! There's sooooooooo much information to take in, and lots of planning to be done. Steep learning curve, but I'm excited to be tackling it.

I've just completed my first year as a marathon walker. You know, I figured that walking 35+ miles a week (and ultimately a 26.2-mile race) at a racing pace would just melt the weight right off, but that certainly didn't happen! I did lose 25 pounds in the past year -- and definitely improved my cardiovascular system and muscle tone -- but I lost 50 pounds the year before!

Carb loading is a big thing for the coaching program I'm with, and I have to wonder if all the emphasis on carbs didn't slow me down on weight/fat loss. Of course, I don't dismiss the fact that I wasn't exactly skimpy when it came to pasta portions, either ...

Anyway, I'm gonna put my all into it and see how this next marathon goes in 10 weeks. Anchors aweigh!

Task for the weekend: Develop a two-week menu and shop for:
- two breakfasts (one at 4 a.m. before training, one at 9 a.m.)
- lunch
- afternoon snack
- dinner

Hey everyone!

It was great hearing from you. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I work 4 days a week, so with 10 hour work days, don't get alot done in the week. So it's my weekend now. Yeah!!

I am so jazzed! I have been on the zone since Monday. I feel the best that I have felt for years. I really think my insulin levels were out of control. I have only been eating about 1200 calories but don't feel hungry at all.

I am enjoying my food and actually feel full while I'm eating. This is definitely more than I expected. Have any of you felt this way in the zone?

The funny thing, is my daughter who doesn't need to lose weight is hungry all the time. I think maybe she needs to add more calories.

I think I will weigh tomorrow and check in. Hope to hear from you.

Weighed myself this morning as Friday's just seem to be the best day. Lost 2 pounds so I am down to 161. Really trying to get below the 160 hash mark. I am pretty much eating the bars for breakfast but some of the new ones are very filling. I eat about 2/3s in the morning and save the rest for after lunch - that way I don't hit up the vending machine in the office.

Was looking at some baked and grilled fish recipes so that is something that I might attempt this weekend. Both my girls absolutely love salmon but I'm trying to broaden their fish eating habits and try some sole or orange roughy. If anything turns out good I will post it on the board.

Time to hit the hay. Good Night
Ann
