I currently have a 16 mth old little girl - we never stopped trying to have another child after she was born. (by the way she was conceived on birth control). But it just has not happened - I nursed for 6 mths so I know that, that can affect fertility. But it has been just about a year now since I stopped nursing and still no baby.
So what I'm wondering is - did anyone have any infertility problems and if so what worked. I go back to the doctor in Dec for the whole fertility workup, but we don't have ins so this is going to be pricey. We have enough money set aside for my pregnancy and delivery and everything - but I'm worried what we'll do if we spend all that money on getting pregnet.
So if there is anything natural that worked for you please let me know. Also I know my weight can play a factor in this - I was 180 when I got pregnet with my daughter, now I'm 240

Do you track your cycles and identify "prime time"? I LOVE the software program Hormonal Forecaster You can download it and try it for free and it's quite inexpensive.
Anyway, I used that, and a couple months I used the at home Ovulation test kits which are like pregnancy tests. I used those to identify when in my cycle I ovulated, and then I just made sure we "tried" every other day that week.
I have trouble staying pregnant, but I've gotten pregnant 4 times in less than 3 years using this software, so it works for me.
Also, your doc will probably want to see a temp chart. You take your temperature as soon as you wake up every day. It will rise when you ovulate and then stay at that level the rest of your cycle. It will help him and you see when you ovulate. I thought it was a huge hassle when they have those kits now for pretty cheap.

PS. The times we were "trying", I made sure to stay in bed on my back with my butt on a pillow for 10 mins afterwards. Just to get the little guys swimming in the right direction. I swear it made a difference. I read it somewhere medical a long time ago.

I had fertility problems when I tried to have my second baby. It was 6 yrs. between my two children. I went to a fertility doctor and was put on Clomid and was pregnant in 3 months. I did use the temperature charts and the Ovulation kits. With this second pregnancy I was 32 yrs. old and was overweight which the Dr. thought might have decreased my fertility. At the time I conceived, I had been actively trying to get pregnant for 2 yrs. and this is why we sought a fertility specialist.

Well with 5 kids by the age of 29 and 1 miscarriage by 31, while I was on the iud! I am extremely fertile. I was wondering which b.c. you were using and got pg on? I think I will have my hubby d/l this tonite so we can avoid it. We would like to wait a few years to have one of our own. One thing I did want to mention is make sure you are getting your folic acid! That is something a woman needs to have in her system even before pregnancy to ensure the baby doesn't have spina bifida. I have two relatives that got pregnant while on the pill. One of them went on to have 5 more children trying various birth control methods. The solution was for her husband to get snipped.

For me, I don't think I'm very fertile due to my PCOS but you never know. We actually sometimes use two forms of birth control, better to be safe than sorry.

Okay...here's my 2 cents. My advice is, in my opinion, you are more fertile when you have sex and it's a really, really romantic, long, drawn out, wonderful sexy experience. Like, taking the baby to grandma's or a family member or friend that will babysit over night and take a nice, romantic day to unwind with hubby, have a wonderful dinner, get lots of candles and have a really long romantic sexy evening with hubby. Maybe I'm speaking out of turn, but I remember my brother and his wife trying to get pregnant for my oldest neice and Betty taking her temperature and calling my brother, "Kevin, it's time!!" leaving the rest of the family on the porch staring at each other and ten minutes later coming out of the bedroom, hoping that time was the time they'd concieved. And I thought...well, that was gross. And had to have been a very mechanical sexual experience.

And, I can tell you, I have two kids and I have very vivid memories of the experience that concieved both of my kids. Both times were very romantic, very sexy and wonderful nights and I always thought that maybe it helps the woman's fertility if she's insanely in the mood at the time of conception...lots of foreplay...sort of more inviting to the little spermies, if you know what I mean.

Yes I know. lol If I were still married to the man who fathered the other 5 I would say that is plenty! But this is with my new hubby and I know he would love to have one with me and vice versa. He is great and has taken on a woman who has 5 kids and is planning on raising them and loving them as his own. If this is the one thing I can do for him then I will. He will spend the rest of his life being a dad to 5 kids who are not biologically his, giving him one of his own won't hurt.

Well, I don't know about all this fertile stuff, but what I can vouch for is that green tea supplements may very well help. I started taking it to help with metabolism to see if it affected my weight loss a bit more. I never found out if it helped weight loss, because about a month or two after I began taking them, I got pregnant. After years of thinking we couldn't, bam. And someone on here told me the same thing happened to them. Someone else here mentioned that it "boosts the cervical mucous". So it might be worth a shot.
