Jen - I haven't seen the US version (will probably wait and get it on DVD) but I really liked the UK version. Have you seen both? If so, how would you compare them?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the office. And yes, i was screaming too. I dont like the whole Jim transfer thing AT ALL. But i DO love the Pam breaking up with Roy part. That was way over due...although i did kind of feel sorry for Roy...but Jim is her man. I hope it doesnt stay with him in the other office all season.
I love the office. Liked the british version slightly better, because I'm a huge Ricky Gervais fan. American remakes of British comedies usually disappoint me, but this didn't.
This show is so bad it's good. I like that they introduced some new characters in Jim's new office.
But seriously, when it got all crazy towards the end with Dwight busting out the Kung-Foo.... classic. I am amazed at what they get away with. Love it.
I adore both versions of The Office. When my husband and I found out they were doing an American version we were worried that it wouldn't do well. Thankfully it's really funny and has a big following.
Ricky Gervais is hilarious. I love listening to his podcasts with Karl Pilkington. Awsome stuff!
I LOVE The Office! I quit watching CSI last season because they changed the time of My Name is Earl and The Office. Okay, even though Pam called it off and I DO want to see her and Jim together...do you think it would change things? I kind of think it would change the way the show goes. But at the same time I don't think this transfer is going to work...it was silly, especially the calculator in the jello But the new people don't fit in and they can't keep going back and forth. But OMG the gaydar killed me!
Being in Britain, I've only seen the British version. I worked in an insurance office here that was exactly like The Office. We had our own David Brent and everything!
I've never seen the British version, but the U.S. version KILLS me! It is hilarious...especially because I have been in Scranton, PA (and still have some friends from college who live near there).
I wish they'd focused more on the Pam/Jim thing in the season premier, and I'm not sure how it will change things throughout the course of the show--but I can't wait to find out!
I think the Jim/Pam thing (also known as JAM on the official message board) needs to stretch out for awhile. I'm afraid that if these two got together too soon, it could make the show "jump the shark" (If you don't know what that means, go here: www.jumptheshark.com)
