Goals achieved??

  • Hiya

Im not quite sure if this is the right place to ask .. but if not hopefully someone can move it to where its supposed to go lol ..

I was just wondering .. all of us have goals (or have reached their goals) to get to a certain weight ... I was just wondering .. what is it that you look forward to doing when you get there??

For me ... I look forward to getting a leg wax (painful I know .. but sooo much easier than shaving rofl) .. Im going to get a manicure, have a day at a spa getting pampered and my first real massage, and buy an outfit from the "non large sized" area for the first time in my life that I can remember. I also want to go to one of those cafes that have plastic chairs and have morning tea or lunch there without worrying the chair is gonna collapse under me ... I also want to get something from a catalogue like Victoria Secrets ...

By then I hope to be walking the 3.5km to town and home again too! Still wont run tho ... I refuse to run when Im not being chased lol .. like jumping out of a perfectly good plane with a parachute when a crashing one gives you a life jacket!! rofl

Sooo .. anyone else?? To those that reached their goals ... what sort of thing did you do to celebrate reaching it?

Also .. do you treat yourself as you reach mini goals through the process?? What sort of treats are they?? I havent reached a goal yet so I dont have one .. but would be nice to get ideas lol ..

I refuse to go shopping for clothes again until I am half way to my goal ... but then I will be looking for size 20NZ instead of the size 26/8 Im getting now .. AND NO MORE ELASTIC OR STRETCHY CLOTHES .. talk about cheating lol ..
  • I look forward to wearing my little black dress that I wore when I first met my DH. It's like a size 10 and really clingy. Then he is going to take me out for dinner and I am going to eat and drink without worrying about gaining 5 pounds for one dinner. Guess I'd better tell DH about this plan sometime, LOL

Then I am going to go to the Goodwill store and buy a bunch of jeans in my new size (yes, I am that cheap) and parade around for my daughters who both wear size 7 jeans. My 13 year old has already warned me that her clothes are off limits....that ok, not my style anyways, LOL

Maybe I will get a new hair style then too, I won't do it now because I think it will jinx my weight loss..............superstitious me.
  • I wouldn't wait on buying clothes that fit. It's a huge motivator to wear clothing that is form-fitting as you lose, instead of wafting around in your way-too-big tents! I couldn't afford new clothes every few sizes, so I started doing the thrift stores. I pay just a few bucks for a pair of pants, and when they get too big I don't feel bad about giving them up.

I'm not to my goal yet, but I really enjoy all the compliments I get.

I have never been a skirt-wearer (at least not since I was considerably smaller), but three times this summer I've worn skirts for family reunions and parties.

I look forward to having lost enough weight to be able to start a running program.
  • I'm going CLOTHES shopping!!!

and I'll probably also get a leg wax... as well as a bikini wax

Probably book a hotel room for me & my guy & finally wear that corset & thong I bought a few years ago (WITHOUT feeling like a human stuffed sausage or embarrassed & awkward)

Do I treat myself along the way? Not yet... it's only 17ish pounds so far, but soon I'm gonna have to give in and get at least one pair of new pants & shorts.
  • I just recently reached goal and treated myself to a new haircut and style(not shown in this avatar photo) , 2 new dresses and a pair of shoes. I normally don't wear dresses very often but these were a great buy and fit so well. I really rewarded myself with new casual clothes and shoes along the journey, whenever I needed them. I did get some at a consignment shop. I have better clothes now than I ever have. I used to never spend any money on myself. I agree with everyone else, no more stretchy clothes for me unless they are to work out in. I also bought some sexy undies and bras, no more granny panties for me.
  • I never figured out any good rewards (besides clothes ~ and my credit cards are already screaming in agony from it), but I think I want to go for a spa day (although I don't know what that entails . . . ). I think I'm going to get my waist-length hair cut and get a manicure and pedicure (something I've never done before).

And then when I get my new driver's license photo taken in September, I should be over 150 pounds lighter than when I took it 4 years ago!!! That is something I'm definitely looking forward too. I hate showing my license to anyone because it looks nothing like me anymore.
  • 4 years ago my dad offered me $1k to buy new clothes when I reach goal (really high end). I was 10lbs from that and got pregnant. He offered it to me. I told him I really wanted to wait until I reached goal some day. So the $1k offer still stands. I have lost 20lbs now and have 25 more to go. It's less about the clothes (although that is a great motivator) and more about being able to shout that I accomplished my goal.

I will get good family pictures where I'm not hiding behind everybody. I will send them in this years Christmas cards (I never mail Christmas cards but this year I will).
  • I just want boots. Sexy, to the knee, high heels, lace up (none of that elastic stuff), quality leather, and not from one of those "big calf" places. My DH makes fun of me saying I want "hooker boots", but I doubt he'll complain when I wear them with a miniskirt .
  • Quote: and not from one of those "big calf" places.

    I guess I didn't know they existed!
