Hormone Therapy

  • Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't sure where to put it.

I am 41 and recently had surgery and I am now on hormone replacement therapy, anyone else here taking them and has it affected your weightloss?

Research claims it slows down the process and I think if I know this going in I can adjust the mind set and not be set up for failure.

    Thanks
  • I take Estratest HS after having a full hyst. 2 years ago, and it hasn't affected me either way. What are you taking? Mine is a combination of low dose estrogen and testosterone.
  • i took Premarin for 2 years after my hysterectomy. I didn't notice any weight gain while I was taking it, but I wasn't making an attempt to lose weight then, so I don't know if it would have slowed down weight loss or not. I quit taking it after 2 years.
  • I lost 70 lbs while on premarin - it wasn't fast, but it did come off.
  • Hey all, my situations is a bit different, 25 yrs old and in premature ovarian failure from chemo and radiation...I am only taking a combo birth control pill-ortho tri cyclen ...no weight gain, but i do notice water retention...but if i drink A LOT of water my weight goes down the next day
