I've thought that I might like to get a tummy tuck eventually...if I can wrap my mind around my needle phobia long enough to go through with it. But I figured I'd have to wait on my rich uncle to get out of the poor house. However, in the latest issue of First for Women, there is an ad that professes guaranteed financing for any cosmetic procedure. I checked their site (doctorssayyes.net) and they cover 28 states. They say no one will be turned down and you can finance for as little as $99 down and $99/mo. So if anyone has ever wanted to do this but was also waiting on that rich uncle, this might be the way to go.
Oh thank you. i will need to have my boobs put back ionto place after nursing three babies and i am currently on my third year staight of nursing scince I nursed my second untill she was two quit nursing her when my third was delivered and she gave up her precious boobie to her new Baby! lol I we defintily don't have money to pay up front for that kind of thing! thanks for that info! And your needle phobia they can give you a pill that will relax you and make you loopy and you won't even remember that prtion! You just ahve to tell them you are scared of needles.
Cool. Once I'm done nursing...in another three years, barring no more kidlets, I need to get some boob removed. I could almost certainly get health insurance to cover it, but I want the luxury of finding a surgeon I know will do a good job, if you KWIM.
I called this place and they seemed super high pressure in my opinion. They wanted $500 to make the appt. with the doctor yet they wouldn't tell me the doctors name until I paid them, only his credentials. The finance charge was 15%
just thought I'd let ya know what they wanted to charge me. To visit a normal cosmetic surgeon it usually doesn't cost anything for a consultation
Sigh. About what I figured. You can probably get a signature loan from your bank or credit union with a much more reasonable interest rate, and I believe some doctors offer in-house financing as well.

Sure it was the same place? Or how long ago? Because the ad says "You will be given a FREE CONSULTATION with a Board Certified Surgeon in your area". It does say it's a $200 value absolutely free after that, so maybe they did use to charge for it but have grown enough that they do it free now?
Just for general info, most surgeons will work with you. You can finance/do payment plans with most offices without involving anyone else. I would suspect that as the middleman this website would charge you. You can cut that out by going either through your bank or the surgeon themselves. Of course you'd still have to pay interest/etc, but at least you wouldn't have the unnecessary additional charge.
If you read the entire website, the "$99 down, $99 a month" price is "based on Liposuction procedure $4998.00 total price, 6% APR, 48-month term." A couple of days ago, there was a disclaimer that your actual interest rates will depend on your credit score, although I can't seem to find that today. It also says (on another page) that the "total price" doesn't include a "small operating room fee".
What makes me uneasy is that, even if you get the 6% interest, the numbers don't add up. $99 down, plus $99 for 48 months, equals only $4851, which is less than the procedure actually costs. They'd lose money that way. So obviously, there are either a lot of hidden fees (despite what they claim), and/or you'd end up paying much more than 6% interest.
I'm sorry to be a spoilsport, but I smell a rip-off here. You'd be better off to save up the 99 bucks a month for three or four years, and then ask your chosen doctor for a nice fat discount for paying cash up front.
Part of my savings is for surgery eventually. If I get down to near 200 lbs or under 200 lbs, I believe I deserve it. I know most plastic surgeons will work with you. What I'd recommend is find a good surgeon in your area and go talk to them. You can just ask for a consulatation and I believe most won't charge you. Believe me, they don't make their money off of consultations.
I saw my surgeon today and there was no consultation fee. You are better getting a loan from the bank or saving your money and going with a reputable surgeon YOU CHOOSE (this is important, you have to feel comfortable with the person to whom you are giving you body to contour, ect.). And tummy tucks are a bit more expensive than lipo, esp. since they usually include a hospital stay (and thus a hospital bill as well as the surgeons fees, ect).
