Oh, believe me, I have waaaaay too much boobage to go braless or even strapless. I'm going to go to a fabric store and get some material to make wide enough straps to cover my bra straps. Then I want to get some sheer material and make sleeves that way you will still see my arms but for me mentally, they'll feel covered.
I don't have a Walmart near me. But my dry cleaners does have a tailor and I'll see if they'll do it and if so, how much it'll cost.
Good Will and the Salvation Army usually have stuff that is old and out of date, and there's not too many pluss size dresses. I recomend JC Penney's, Im see someone else did before me. How about Wal-mart or K-mart? I guess they usually don't have formal clothes, just everyday stuff. I was able to buy some nice Kathi Lee blouses to wear to church from there. Also, my Mom has a nice sewing machine, she made me some nice clothes on it.
I love those dresses! They're so pretty. I like the glittery black dress best. I like the idea of dark fabric with sparkles/glitter on it, that resembles a night sky full of stars. I like to draw fashion design pics, I want to be a fashion designer.
I know Jen. Can you believe that you can go to the backwoods of any rinky dink town and find a Walmart but not one is in NYC. I'm baffled by it myself.
I live in the DC area and there is 1 walmart for our entire county. Where my parents live in California (town of 300k), they have 4 walmarts in their city alone... 4...
Tracey, if the dry cleaners can't help you see if a fabric store has a list of seemstresses that will take work. (That is if you have a fabric store nearby)
And if not try any plus size clothing store,,,normally they have cards of local seamstresses,,,at least thats what I always had on hand when i managed a plus size clothing store.
OR check out a fabric store and look for see throu bra straps...which would make your bra *strapless like looking* Then all you need is a shawl.
