has anyone tried spanx or other body shaping undies
i'm just curious who has tried this stuff. i've seen it on oprah etc etc but does it work?
love to hear what others think... what's the best for making you look slimmer than you are and getting rid of "bumps" lol

I love my spandex undies with my jeans. They take that roll that insistantly rolls over the top away, which slims you. They don't make me look smaller but I look groomed. Does that make sense? I also like them with my dresses and skirts that are straight fitting.

Control top pantyhose are my friend. Did you know that you can cut them off at the knees to wear under slacks or skirts in the summer?

I have looked up Spanx but haven't ordered them yet because of the price, but I am thinking about it! I'd be interested in hearing opinions about them as well!
I do buy some undies from Target that have spandex in them and they help some - Vasarette brand usually has quite a few to choose from.

i tried a few different body shaping undies but couldn't see any difference but i don't know if they have lycra in them???
i know many moons ago when i cycled that my bike pants pulled everything in LOL
SusanB what brand control top panty hose do you prefer? and do they fray when you cut them off at the knees? that sounds like a nice cheap option
i just borrowed a pair of spanx power panties from a friend. i've only tried them over my own knickers (hygiene and all that LOL) and they definitely smoothed the bumps but i guess i was hoping it would be like a corset and suck my fat tummy in to make it smaller rofl
i know oprah talked about some on her show but not sure what brand they were

What I'm curious about is the "seen on TV" ones called Slim 'n Lift. They go from just under your bra line to your knees, to cover all of what I call "the roll zones". They claim to cut up to 3" off your body measurements. Unfortunately I have seen some bad reviews from women who couldn't get them on at all and were very uncomfortable in them. *sigh*
I have a couple of waist to knee ones (like extra tight bike shorts) from Lane Bryant that I positively love. They suck me in just a little, smooth the lumps, and protect against annoying chafing, all at the same time. I have a pair or two of just panty ones, but they don't do nearly so nice of a job.

I hated body shapers. Yes, they make you look more "polished." But they don't necessarily make you look smaller. The reason I didn't like them is because they hurt! And sometimes they have a tendency to roll and really make things stand out even more.
I think that for the most part it's trial and error. It can get a little expensive though. However sometimes the best ones are among the pricier ones.
