Default So sad--Dana Reeves has cancer

I just heard on the radio that Dana Reeve, widow of Christopher Reeve, has been diagnosed with lung cancer at the age of 44.

They seemed to have everything. Physical beauty, professional success, fame, wealth, youth and a loving relationship. Then the tragic accident where he fell from the horse changed everything.

Her strength and dedication in caring for her paralyzed husband was amazing. She stood by him through better or worse---how many people would do that?

I felt so sorry for her when he died last year. He worked so hard to improve his condition and to increase awareness and research of paralysis. They took the terrible fate they had been dealt and tried to make it better. I really respect that. I've worked with so many paralyzed patients over the years and have rarely, if ever, seen such spirit and determination.

Now, she is fighting for her own life.

It made me realize, once again, just how very precious each and every day of health is. It reminded me, once again, of how trivial most "problems" and annoyances are.

I hope and pray that Dana Reeve and all of you are blessed with good health!
Liz

I felt the same way when I heard the report today. So very sad! I cannot help but think of their children and the loss they have already had to experience. I also hope and pray that the Lord will watch over Dana and bless her with a healing!!

Default Sad Situation

I was saddened by this too. My sister's father-in-law was a non-smoker also who died of lung cancer. Dana is so young and her son has been through so much also. My prayers go out to the family.

That's just too much for one person to have to handle. I sure hope this is an easy fix.
