Wasn't this the strangest show ever??????? HOW did this happen? Well, I still didn't vote :o But how could John Stevens have received more votes than Latoya, Jennifer, and Fantasia? Computer error? Or are people just taking for granted that the top 3 will automatically get the votes, so they use their time and efforts voting for their second favorite?

I've only ever attempted to vote once. It was last year, for the final two. I tried so hard to vote for Clay, but could never get through. Redial, redial, redial.. No luck. Is that what it is always like?

On the other hand, I took a look at the message board on the official Idol site and was amazed at how many people said they voted multiple times for their favorites, some of them voting over 100 times.

I don't know. It's Bizarro world tonight.

I just love this thread! Thank you to all you mainlanders for giving me the heads-up on what's happening even before it airs here. I've still got 2 hours before the show airs here. I'm in Hawaii which is the last to see the show and I'm a need-to-know-NOW kind of girl. I've watched AI from season 1 but have only been "obsessed" (ok yeah, I admit I'm a geek on this) with it since this season with Camille and Jasmine being from my small home state of Hawaii~~you go girls! :p I think it was amazing that Camille got as far as she did. Interesting sounding voice but not much power behind it--lots of emotion, but no volume. Yeah Suzanne, I totally agree w/the "deer in the headlights" look. As we say in HI, "pua ting" (poor thing :rofl: )

I think Jasmine is right on the cusp of packing too. Cute girl but she needs to get more control over her voice. I think she'll do quite nicely given a few more years to get polished.

I don't wanna say anything about John Stevens :foot: ...last time I did (on another thread) somebody actually knew him. He does have a voice but for a totally different genre--he would've been an idol back in the 50's I think.

Well, I've rambled on and on only to say that my loyalties lie with LaToya all the way, although I've never ever actually tried to vote for anyone, ever :^:

I can't believe they were the bottom three :dunno: People are still voting for John? :lol: I liked him too at the beginning but it is time to say byebye.

You sound like me. I can not believe who was in the bottom 3 this week!

I should not complain because I don't vote. I have 2 reasons for not voting this year. I have not felt compelled because I have not decided who's the best yet and I read that Ruben's mother voted countless times last year, therefore, I knew that my one little vote would not amount to anything.

I voted last year for Clay too. I usually did not get through until midnight each time. I really wanted him to win, he is so talanted. His voice gives me chills sometimes.

I think EVERYONE was shocked at the outcome last night! George Huff looked like he was going to cry. All I know, was when it came down to Jennifer and Fantasia I was repeating a mantra of "please let Fantasia go, please let Fantasia go." Something about her just really irks me. Ich.

La Toya is still my favorite. She has had one or two missed notes, but overall, she is the most consistantly great performer. Plus she seems to be one of those women who has the attitude to match her beauty. Kind of like Whitney before Bobby, ya know? Good all the way around. 'Course I could be totally wrong......

Can't wait till next week.

I have voted a few times. The last actually being for my gal Camile and voted 10 times in a row only to have her voted off. I had decided not too anymore due to that. Maybe I should have this week. You can vote a lot of times and it's real simple if you keep redialing and hanging up. I get through real easy after the first hour of voting. It certainly does seem like a conspiracy to me and I keep reading online to see if maybe there were some kind of computer error. Maybe we'll hear something this afternoon when Jennifer is on Ryan Seacrest's On Air.

Ya know, it would stand to reason that the lines for those who are getting the most votes would stay busier longer.....SSSSOOOOOOO.......after an hour or two, if you dialed all the numbers and, say, one or two were easy to get thru on and the others were still busy, you'd have advance notice on who's on the bottom. Just my little "light bulb above the head" thought.

I never thought of it that way but on at least 2 ocassions the person I voted a lot for was on the higher end of the totem pole so to speak. I have also voted for 2 or 3 at for one show. It still could be possible though. It took me until near the end of the voting to vote in the Kelly/Justin finale as well.

I am boycotting AI because JPL is gone and I miss him so. :(

OK guys John has to go now. We're down to the wire and he just has to be it this week. It seems he forgot some words or forgot where to jump in at with the live band. I didn't know what he was singing if they hadn't said. It was so monotone with no ups or downs in his voice. I still have to go with latoya this week. I like Gloria Estefan but I didn't like this latin music for most of these guys. It was more entertainment in all of them than it was vocally. Of course that's only MY opinion for the week. I'm going to predict John, Diana and Jasmine in the bottom 3. (hasn't that been my choice for weeks though?)

I actually thought Jasmine did really well last night--Diana, too. Definately TIME for John Stevens to go!! I felt so sorry for him last night.....Enough is enough. I laughed so hard when Simon said Fantasia sounded like Donald Duck on helium! The folks in the gym were all looking at me like I'd lost it!

My pick of the week (top) is Latoya. Bottom, of course, is John.

I agree, John must go! That was Latin music? Poor John, though, ya know how he's such a fan of the "brat pack"? A few nights ago, I dreamed that he finally was voted off the show. The next week, the special guest was Sammy Davis Jr. They showed a shot of John in the corner crying because he missed it.

What a dream suzanne! :rofl: I have to admit I feel sorry for the guy but he just really isn't idol material. I'm not saying he couldn't make it out on his own with an album but not our idol. (oops I forgot to vote this time but am excited to see results tonight).

I've pretty much like Latoya all the way thru. She's hit a few rough spots, but with the training she'll receive I think she'll do great. Fantasia has had her moments, but like Macy Gray, I think people would get sick of her right away. I thought Jasmine did really well. She missed a few notes but I think she really does have a great voice. Diana seemed to really blend into the latin theme. My reaction was similar to Simon's though. I hated the dress. It was not flattering. Now, poor John Stevens. I think he was embarresed to be up there. It almost seemed like he flubbed it on purpose. He actually smiled when he made one of his mistakes. I've always liked George, and he seems so sweet and nice. But his voice doesn't seem to fit many styles. I think it would be love songs(Barry White or Luther) that would fit him but I don't know if he could become a pop star. I'm still routing for Latoya. I just think she's been the most consistent and she's got a great attitude.

Yay they voted right this time. john is finally gone. It was close with george though but we are getting down to the wire. :)

Wow, I have to agree with the posts from the last couple of days. DonnaD, you have stated exactly how I feel. Things are really going to get interesting going down to the wire. I have to hand it to Diana tho. She also is only 16.....and is handling the pressure great! I really hope Simon goes clothes shopping with her like they said. Ah, George,..............I grew up in Detroit in the 60's and I can hear Motown in him. I have a soft spot for his voice.....and he brings back memories of the 4 Tops, Temptations, Marvin Gaye etc......and he seems like a real 'grounded' guy. All in all, I think Latoya is also the strongest. Now onto next week.........:) :) :) :)

The judge's thought La Toya and Fantasia were the best last night, but I think that Fantasia's voice is whiney. Diana did great and she is very talented for being so much younger-but her dress last night was awful! I think the lowest vote getters will be the Hawiian girl and George. I miss JPL he was quirky...my .02! :cool:

I saw the show. I think that jasmine, diana and george will be bottom 3 if they do it that way tonight with only 5 left. i think it may be george's turn but it's anyones game at this point. I think they all were fairly good lastnight with latoya being the best.

It came down to George and Jasmine. They only did the bottom 2 this week. George was let go but it had to be someone. Hope I didn't spoil it for anyone.

Awwww I was really pulling for George I was sad to see him go.

I think we'll be seeing George around for awhile. He has charisma. I think he'll probably be around longer than some of the girls that were left in the top 4.

I didn't get to see the show last night bec that channel was out for some crazy reason. :dizzy: but I am so disappointed that they voted off George. I really liked him. I just love his personality and smiling face! :D Also he is from Louisiana and so am I.

Hopefully we will still see him around!

You will actually see that diana did the best this week to much our surprise. Jasmine sang "its raining men" and I forget the other. Disco all sounds the same to me. :lol: Jasmine was most likely the bottom one this week and she cries when she walks over to ryan after singing the second song. I think she senses that it's the end of the road for her but someone has to go with it only being 4 and I wouldn't be surprised if diana may not come out on top when it's said and done and I never cared for her. She showed a lot of growth this week however.

Thanks for the heads-up Dana...I think Diana's been getting better each week too, even though her voice is not quite to my liking. I think her efforts should keep her in there longer than Jasmine though. But you never know how everyone will vote--look what happened to Jennifer Hudson! I don't particularly like Disco either (although I did have some good times at the skating rink way back when :lol: ) I'm watching the show tonight anway. Thanks again.

I felt so bad for Jasmine last night. She just seemed to wilt emotionally when Randy agreed with Simon on her last song. There's no doubt she will be the one to go this week. Believe it or not, my opinion of who the final two will be has changed to Diana and Fantasia. Much as I hate that. I just don't want Fantasia to win--she irks me. Latoya is really good, but she is just...I don't know...monotone. Not really monotone, but it seems as though all the songs she sings sound the same. I just wonder if she'd be able to adapt to different musical styles, like, example, Kelly Clarkson changed from "A Moment Like This" to "Miss Independent."

Anyway. Since I have yet to vote, my opinion is just about worthless. Guess I'm just typing to see the words appear on the screen :D

Girls I heard on Inside Edition that there is a MAJOR upset on Idol tonight and that it was one of the leading ladies: Latoya or Fantasia. I really like Latoya and hope that it's not her.

It didn't come on until 8:54 PM eastern time tonight so warning to those of you on the west coast and behind, it comes on later and at an unusual time. Fantasia and latoya were in the bottom 2 and Latoya :cry: was voted off.

You know no matter how it turns out, Latoya will outsell the winner anyway and will be more successful. It will be interesting to see if the voting turnout reduces in size indicating that there isn't as many viewers.
