There has to be other gamers here!
I was searching around the threads and sub-threads for other gamers like myself (though, the "games" sub-thread isn't really what I'm talking about, but please move it there if it's more appropriate!)
As I explained a little big in my signature, I'm an avid video game collector and player. :D I'm currently playing ZombiU (WiiU) and Halo the Master Chief Collection (XBox One) at the moment. :queen: Let's talk video games! I love finding other people who like video games! |
I play lots of games :) My favorite of all time is Earthbound for the SNES. Currently I've been playing a bit of the most recent WoW expansion with friends, after finally finishing up Shadows of Modor. We've got a PS3, PS4, 3DS, PSP, PS Vita, and will be getting a Wii U for Christmas (family gift).. then of course I have my PC too. Single player I've mostly been playing some indie games on the PC, and then some Ni No Kuni on the PS3.
|
guilty :) I love video games since i was a little girl. my gamertag is calicofox :) i dont have the xbox one yet but im getting it around xmas time :)
|
We don't have an xbox yet. I'm sure we'll end up getting one eventually.. My steam gamertag is Sunarie though. Assuming there are multiple Sunaries, mine is the one that has the avatar of a cartoon girl in a headset holding onto a spiked ball and chain.

I just blew out my husband's laptop playing Skyrim the other day. It was running for over 24 hours straight and we're pretty sure the power supply melted. We haven't opened it up yet. It smells bad. :( Probably we can rescue the hard drive if not the whole PC, so I can continue my game.
For now we're playing on the PS3 again. I forgot how much I loved Skyrim on the first playthrough. I wish Elder Scrolls Online didn't make you pay for BOTH the game and the subscription, or I would be on that in a heartbeat. As it stands I probably won't start playing. We each have a PS3 on our own TV in the living room (mounted side by side on the wall). We just never bothered to get rid of a TV or PS3 when we moved in together... which has been nice for playing Borderlands and Civ Revolution together. I'm obsessed with Pokemon and Legend of Zelda, and have played almost all the games in both series. Lately I've been sitting beside my husband while he plays through Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and now Twilight Princess. It's nice to share it with him. :) The games I actually play the most of (despite aforementioned obsessions) are strategy games. Civ 5 on the mac, lots of Sim games (SimCity, Rollercoaster Tycoon, etc), and Age of Empires (although I secretly liked Empire Earth a lot better). There's a special place in my heart for dungeon crawlers, too, which started with Diablo II. I wish I could remember all the great ones I've played since then. I think Champions: Return to Arms was one on the PS2. I can't pick my favourite games. I guess the only games I don't like much are full FPS games with no third person view. Don't get me wrong, first person is a great viewpoint in certain circumstances (I usually play a stealth archer in Elder Scrolls games, and I use a LOT of first person when clearing dungeons), but when I'm just running around goofing off and looting stuff (or if I'm swordfighting) I want a third-person view. It just puts more on the screen so I feel like I'm watching a battlefield. I don't want to be IN a battlefield, I want to CONTROL it. I am babbling too much. |

Love this thread! And so excited about Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby coming out on Friday! Just got a reminder text from GameStop (make that four reminder texts because we pre-ordered four copies, lol).
My whole family (me, husband, son and daughter) love gaming. We all have our favorites but some game (like Pokemon and Minecraft) we all play. My son loves the Call of Duty type stuff, my daughter loves various mobile games on her Kindle, my husband likes sports games and Assassin's Creed. I like puzzle games and word games. Yay, gaming!!! |
Why has no one mentioned The Sims yet? :p I play that and Minecraft mostly, but I probably don't count as a gamer because I don't own a console or play games more than once a week at most. I also like Zelda, but I haven't played that in years.
|
I have the Sims 4, and Minecraft as well. I haven't been playing either lately though. Pokemon I like but we only have one DS and usually we only buy one game cause we don't like spending that much money on essentially the same game... so since Pokemon still only has one save slot.. well I'm still waiting for boyfriend to beat Black/White so I can play through it, lol. We did pick up the new Dragon Age last night though.
|
I'm so glad there's a thread for this!
Ever since I was a kid, gaming was my way of taking a break and getting away from normal life. I am and always have been a PC gamer. I've played on one or the other friends' PS and Xbox, but never had my own. My first real games were Septerra Core and Final Fantasy VIII (always my first love). These days I'm pretty obsessed with Assassin's Creed and Diablo 3:RoS. |
I've got Diablo 3 but I haven't played it in a loooong time. The auction house, and real money auction house, were both still in place the last time I picked it up, if that's any indication, lol. I heard RoS was good though.

Gamer here. Played Everquest for years, still pop back on there every once in awhile (there's a free to play option). Played WoW for a short while. The game that has my attention now is Skyrim. I played it not long after it first came out, but then lost interest when I got into another game, but now am totally back into it.
I play The Sims 3 from time to time, I have most of the expansions but not all of them enabled. I've also been playing a Sim game called Game Dev Tycoon. It's very low tech, but it is a lot of fun. I don't have any of the new consoles, never really been much for console gaming since Sega Genesis, and Playstation/2 to a certain extent. |
Actually playing CoD while reading this. :D

I, too, play the Sims 2/3/4... but since 4 came out I've gotten a bit annoyed at The Sims, because the company is no longer making a mac version. Yeah, we have a PC in the house, but I prefer certain games on my mac and The Sims has always been in that category (usually our household macs have higher performance than our household PCs, for one thing). Also they're continuing their trend of taking all the features out for the first release, which they had an excuse for 5 years ago, but not today. So I don't know if I'll be buying any new expansions or new Sims games down the road. |
I play games when I can. A few friends got me into Hearthstone and I got my husband into it. I've never played any card games but it is fun for a quick diversion. I also have Dragon Age Inquisition waiting for me when I free some time up for something more than a quick diversion. I've also been playing GW2 but again, I usually need to dedicate an hour to play or more for world events but I've been busy so that has fallen behind.
|
Mmm games....
Currently loving Dragon Age: Inquisition on the PS4. Heard it picked up a game of the year award, and I can believe it. I swap between that, Minecraft and I'd love to start up on Skyrim again, but I loaned it to my inlaws and haven't seen it since. I might break down and go back to the Fallout games and run through 3 and New Vegas again to tide me over.
|
I've been back into minecraft the past week or so ^_^
I'm such a wimp though. I start out in survival mode and that lasts quite a while until I hit an extensive cavern system underground. Then I get into a standoff with a skeleton, and I never have enough arrows on hand to get rid of them that way, so I end up chickening out and switching the game to peaceful mode to clear the cavern. *sigh* I better not be the only one with gaming confessions. |
I've been going through Dragon Age Inquisition on the PC. Loving it so far. The completionist in me wanted to go through all of Hinterlands right off and see all of it/get all the things. So I spent a ton of time there. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I've found most of the characters I want to keep in my party. I'm an elf mage :)
I loved Fallout 3, and New Vegas too... currently I have my sights set on a few of the Telltale games (The Wolf Among Us and Game of Thrones specifically) for some mini-goal rewards. They're very comic booky and more story driven. You just kind of pick how you go through the story. Heavy rain-esque in that sense, if any of you played that one. We also recently got the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix thing that has Kingdom Hearts 2 and some others on it for the PS3. Wii U came in, but that's sealed until Christmas.. Have Super Mario 3D Land, Super Smash Bros, Monster Hunter 3, Mario Kart, and Nintendoland for it. |

Hello my fellow gamers!! ^.^
Well, to start off, I have been a hardcore gamer since the age of 4, when my parents bought me my first Nintendo. I was all about Zelda, Megaman, Super Mario Bros., and the like. From that point on, there is rarely a day that passes by when I do not game. My husband and I actually had some of our first dates playing together on CoD! We bonded in so many ways and gaming was just one of them! :cloud9: Gaming is a huge passion of mine, I ended up becoming an Xbox girl shortly after my parents bought my siblings and I the first Playstation and the first Xbox. I played on both of them so much, then found myself turning more often towards the Xbox. When my husband and I first moved in together, we both had our 360s and older generation consoles. We now have the One as well, love it! We have Nintendo, Sega, Gamecube, Xbox, 2 Xbox 360s, and the Xbox One. I am a loyal Bethesda fan, ever since I played the first Elder Scrolls game, Arena, when I was 6 years old. I LOOOOOOVE the entire The Elder Scrolls series, Fallout series, CoD series, Borderlands series, Grand Theft Auto series, Zelda, DragonAge, Destiny, Batman Arkham, Halo, Minecraft, Assassin's Creed, Diablo, Fable, Final Fantasy, and Mass Effect. Those are all staples hahaha! The main game that currently has my focus is DragonAge:Inquisition and CoD AW. GTA V, Destiny, and Diablo 3 rotate with me a lot, and of course I still play Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and I still play Oblivion and Skyrim!! I rotate the games I play so that they all get equal playing time haha! |

Nice! Inquisition was a reward to myself for one month on plan (I was going to get it anyways, but one month of behaving myself meant I got to get it NOW instead of in January) and haven't had a chance to play as much as I would like.
Wolf Among Us looks interesting and I think will hit the list.. I haven't picked up the Kingdom Hearts Final Mix yet, but it's absolutely on the list. Now if life would cooperate and I get some more free time I'll catch up on the game playing. It's funny how many of us have met the S.O. while gaming. I admit mine wasn't playing video games, but we gamed in the same tabletop RPG for 6 years before we started dating, and now we're getting married this summer. Game On! Di |

I started getting into games because of my husband, he is a huge gamer. He loves final fantasy 7, 10, zelda, The elder scolls games, kingdom hearts, and tons more.
I started with LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, and then played Puppeteer. Right now I'm playing my very first RPG, Child of Light, and I really love it. It's beautiful, and calming, and very fun. I play games on the ps3 mostly while I'm on the elliptical. I've made it a rule that I'm only allowed to play on the elliptical, it helps me get my workouts in, and have fun doing it! |
Claygirl, that's a fantastic idea! If we do get a treadmill in the house (SO and I are discussing it) then I think that'll be a rule. Even if I'm not going very fast, it still beats the ears off gaming from the couch!
|
I got Sims 4 when it was 1/2 price on the Black Friday Sale, so I've been playing that a lot this last week. I also got in a GOG sale, and got the Settlers Pack, which has Settlers 2, 3, and 4, as well as an offshoot Settlers Game. I had played Settlers 3 back when it was fairly new, and enjoyed it.
|
Claygirl that's awesome! I'm gonna have to do something like that when we eventually get a house, and then I get an elliptical.. both things being very long term goals and all.
I recently found out Telltale released a Borderlands game too.. so that went on my list of things I'm getting myself when I reach goals. |
Currently I've been playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
If anyone knows how to get past the twisty room in the forest temple please let me know (or if you know how to get the bow when you're an adult) :P |

That's been fun though! |

I love video games and right now Destiny has really sucked me in. It combines 2 of my favorite game types rpg/mmo and fps. I am primarily an xbox gamer but have been thinking of grabbing a ps4 sometime soon.
|
I've been a gamer since... Forever. My dad is a gamer and he raised me a gamer so, here I am! I mostly play PC but we've got a PS2-4 and an Xbox but no Wii... Yet. Right now, it's all WoW but I'm also a D3'er and a Steam junkie. I could (and have) game all day. Nice to see more gamers!
|
I recently reactivated my WoW account and started leveling my old 80s. I get burnt out quickly though so maybe my gamer-ness is not so strong. lol Me and hubby and the kids had a five man team for dungeons which was super fun but one kid decided he doesn't want to play it anymore. Boo! Tererria has his attention.
|
I love games too! Mostly simulation ones like Sims 3 and harvest moon. I don't want Sims 4 cause they removed the toddler stage :'(. I have virtual families 2 on my phone!!!
My other big one is Pokemon, Its that one game I'm really good at and the only one I best my husband at. We have a Wii U in our house and then the laptops (husband has steam). I'll play Smash Bros, we got the latest one and that's fun!!! My husband and I are also really into Board games, we have over a hundred... Flux, settlers of Catan, Target, Bang, We didnt play test this, thingd in a box, apples tobapples, Pompeii, etc... I could never list them all!!! Hey, if any of you are sprinters and gamers and have a smart phone my husband has this pretty cool game-app for his sprinting. Its called Zombies, Run! 3 and it tracks your sprinting. When you sprint, you collect supplies for base and have to stay away from zombies. I don't use it cause I swim instead if sprint, but if you're a gamer it can be an added bonus and motivation to get out and run! Plus it gives you something to play atvthr same time. The voices for the game are pretty funny too :) |
So happy to have found this thread.
I got into gaming late in life, I have only been gaming for about 3 years but I am now an addict. :) My DH plays too and that is how I got into it but although we share some gaming interests we have very different preferences. Currently I am playing Red Dead Redemption and I absolutely love it. I play on the weekends for hours when my DH is working the late shift. I am an Xbox 360 user but have thought of getting a play station 3 just to play "last of us". Games completed include: Alan Wake, Alone in the Dark, Halo 3, Left for Dead 1 and 2, Kane and Lynch, Jericho, Silent Hill homecoming, Golden Axe, Eragon, Borderlands, Walking dead telltale 1 and 2, all the Resident evil on xbox 360, FEAR 3 and can't remember the rest now. I just recently joined xbox live just for the DLC's. I really like games with good visuals and a story line I can get lost in. I have to say I think Red Dead Redemption is my fave so far. I am also playing Borderlands 2 but am bored with it and I don't think I will finish it. I want to get "Wolf amongst us" soon. My DH likes racing games like Forza 4, I hate those games. :( Oh well. |
