Default Is it just me?

I noticed this when I lost weight before... but is it just me or do sizes run further apart for bigger people than they do for average/smaller people? Like it has taken me forever to lose a pants size in plus... but when I was smaller it seemed like I wore a different size every month. Maybe I am crazy... but I have lost 50 pounds and I am barely in a size 18 (started at 22). It could be my body type though.

It happened to me as well, now itīs pretty much a size down every 14lbs or so. But of course that also depends on the body type and how you loose (distributed, concentrated in one or few areas and etc). Iīve also noticed that everytime I gain, when I go back to losing I donīt always lose in the same areas first... but no matter what, unfortunately Iīve always struggled to loose on tights, butt and arms... even when I was about 135lbs, my arms were still huge, like a fat, flacid version of popeye ... not pretty.

Happened to me as well. I'm down nearly 30 pounds total (counting some weight I lose prior to joining the site) and my size 20 pants are just starting to feel loose. I can also fit into some size 20s now that were on the tighter side of things. Part of that I think is my fault cause I didn't buy up a size as I got larger. Really can't wait to get into a smaller pant/dress size cause then it'll be progress I can see.

It's not just you, over the last few years I've been between 180-217lbs and have never moved beyond a 14-16 size pants. I think I'm destined to be a size 14 forever lol, I'll probably pass out in the changing room if I ever wiggled into a size 12 lol.

Absolutely! At 190 pounds I was in a size 12. At 277 pounds I'm in an 18/20. That's only 3 sizes spread among 87 pounds. When I was down to 159 pounds I was in a size 8, so in only 31 pounds, I went through 4 sizes.

You are not alone! I spent most of my weightloss so far in my 16Ws, and I'm just now in my regular 16s, and now they are starting to feel loose again. It took forever to get out of the plus size though, But now that i've gotten out of plus, I'm noticing that my pants fit right for about an hour or so, and then they're too loose again. I'm going to try on my 14s once TOM is over, hopefully they will fit soon!

It actually makes sense if you look at percentages or ratios between weight and weight lost rather than absolute numbers ...

Its the paper towel effect. The smaller it gets the more is lost/ is noticeable when you take a paper towel...Maybe someone can explain that better lol

When you are bigger, you can drop a lot more weight and its not as noticeable and it doesn't cause the same change to your body. At a size 12 I could gain or lose about 10 lbs (or even a few more) and still be in the 12. At a size 8, If I lost 5 lbs I was just about able to squeeze into a 6. Gain 5 lbs and my 8s were too tight. Smaller body has less space to distribute the weight. My guess is sizing is standard, but you just need to lose more at bigger sizes to actually make a difference.

That makes sense when you put it that way. It drives me crazy because I am DYING to get into a smaller size. But I am an 17/18 now so I will take it. Some pants fit better than others but 20s are too big so I think I am headed in the right direction
