Hey... Does a crush count if its on a book character? I am IN LOVE with the Black Dagger Brotherhood... and expecially, Butch! I am a little older, but I think crushes are perfectly fine...or there is something wrong with me...The great thing about getting older, is that I'm pretty okay with being wrong!

If anyone can walk away from reading The Hunger Games trilogy not loving Finnick Odair, they're lying.

rubidoux 05-10-2013 02:41 AM

Umm, yeah Eddie Vedder. Sigh... And I've been w dh for 24 years.

The Matt Damon thing kills me. I knew him when I was a teenager. -- not well, like we had friends in common. But it wasn't until I saw goodwill hunting that I realized how cute he was.

punkrocksong 05-10-2013 08:05 AM

It's totally normal to have celeb crushes...and even to be a little jealous of their paramores.

I've loved Joshua Jackson since I was 12 and saw the Mighty Ducks...and just my luck, he's with Diane Kruger - possibly one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Don't feel weird about Ty Burrell...I have a thing for Gary Oldman - pretty much since I saw Sid and Nancy as a teenager.

Bradly Cooper since he played the nerdy side kick on Alias

Captain America is one of the most boring movies I've ever sat through - but seeing Chris Evans shirtless made it well worthwhile.

John Schneider...I wanted to marry him when I was five. And then I realized I must be a grownup when watching Smallville I found papa Kent so much hotter than his son. :D

Finally...Christina Hendricks...If I was ever to go that route - she would be it. Absolutely gorgeous (and not a size 00)

It's fine as long as it is in good fun. I did have a friend who talked so much about Chris Evans that she was starting to annoy her husband and then it did get to the point where it was interferring with reality.

THIS GUYYYY. Nice style, tattoos, athlete body, cute british accent and he seems so cute with his kids.

I swear, the only thing messing to make him perfect is running errands walking a puppy and I am OUT OF THIS WORLD. LOL ;)

I'm 23, and I can answer this question in two words:

Matt Smith

But then a while back I was involved with creating a product that got popular in celebrity circles. And what do you know, there I am at an event where Marisa Tomei is as well. I looked at my wife and said: "Free Pass Time!"... she smiled and said: "Go for it, honey."
Of course nothing happened. I didn't even say as much as "hello" to her. I'm fortunately sane enough to know that I have no business making any kind of move on a woman like her... not that I would anyway.

I bet you enjoyed "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead." :)

I agree, to an extent, that as long as it doesn't hurt anybody, its ok. The thing I wonder about is the "hours" spent looking at pictures online. Is this done while your husband is in a different room watching TV or on the computer? Or do you do this alone? The only reason I ask is because I would feel pretty bad knowing that my wife was spending hours of her time on the internet obsessing over men -- instead of spending that time with me. And I suspect she'd feel the same way if I were doing that.

We spend part of our time together at night sitting on the sofa each with our laptops on the opposite sofa-arms. The middle cushion is where our legs overlap each other and our hands meet when we aren't typing. So romantic!! (And I don't look at men online like that, I never saw a woman for his "oogling" on his screen I don't think.) Now if we were going to check out hot men or hot women online TOGETHER, that's a whole other story. ;)

LOL. I have a feeling that all things being equal, women would be far more open to checking out hot women than men would be open to checking out hot men!

Two words: George. Clooney.

What's this "too old" business all about?! There is so much beauty to be appreciated in the world, it'd be a shame not to recognise that! But my man is the most awesome, beyond beautiful person I've ever met :D

Fact is - other people are attractive. That's cool :) Doesn't mean (if you're in a monogamous relationship) that anyone's about to go off with anyone else. Trust is sexy ;)

He'd have to check his politics and his pants at the door. :)

I think others have summed up my opinion pretty well already - crushes at any age are fine, healthy and normal - it's those borderline stalkers that are the issue!!

I just turned 42 (OMG!!!) and I've had a crush on Aaron Rodgers for a couple years now. Perhaps that is my undying love for the Packers manifesting itself in an actual man, I dunno, I just think he's darling. :)

I suspect that there are a lot of men in Wisconsin that have a man-crush on him too! ;)

So that's the man I should try to get my husband to look at tonight? ;)

Well, that depends... Do you live in Wisconsin and/or is your husband a Green Bay Packers fanatic?

OMG no, I didn't realize it was a football player! We are New England fans but for some reason, he doesn't want to look at Tom Brady like I do lmao!

Hmm, well maybe you can look at Tom while he looks at Gisele. (Although, personally, I don't find her to be the least bit attractive).

elvislover324 05-14-2013 04:56 PM

Neither does my husband (thank God!), I think I weighed more when I was 10 than she does now!

joefla70 05-14-2013 04:57 PM

It not just her body / weight. I just don't think she's pretty at all.

geoblewis 05-14-2013 04:59 PM

I'm 52. Have been crushing on celebs as long as I can remember. I think my first crush was Arturo, a boy in my kindergarten class. First celeb crush was Bobby Sherman. And ALL of the Monkees.

Current crushes (you'll see I have very ecclectic tastes):
Tom Welling (and all things Superman)
Benedict Cumberbatch
Matthew MacFayden
Alec Baldwin (when he was fatter)
Stephen Fry (quite frankly, he's my perfect man)

I too worried about getting too old for this, but at this point in my life, it reminds me that some part of me feels pretty young.

I love Benedict Cumberbatch! Ever since Sherlock came out a couple of seasons ago I have been scouring through Netflix to watch anything he's been in. This past summer I was lucky enough to be able to go see him and Johnny Lee Miller perform "Frankenstein" because a local movie theater showed an encore performance of the NT Live show. I can't want to see the new Star Trek movie and the next season of Sherlock in the fall.

Mister DARCYYYYYYYYYYYY.

... Pride & Prejudice really created high expectations for my romantic life, and in part because of HIM!
