When I read this, I immediately thought of non food stuff, so what the heck, I'll post it.

I am not a fan of:

Dancing with the stars,
American Idol,
Twilight anything.

Oh, also not a leafy salad fan.

Jilu 04-09-2013 09:29 PM

Oatmeal! I want to like it, really. But I'm just always kind of bleh about it. This also applies to things with oats in them as well like granolas or cookies, etc.

It's not even the texture. I just don't like the flavor no matter how it's prepared.

novangel 04-09-2013 09:35 PM

I don't like beans either, everything else is fair game.

The only greek yogurt I can deal with is Oikos Key Lime flavor. The rest taste like when you burp and puke a little in your mouth. How's that for a dead accurate description?

Curvycurly 04-09-2013 09:44 PM

yuck, cottage cheese
not a fan of sweet potatoes either
I also despise squash, zucchini, bean sprouts, and water chestnuts :barf:

I have forced myself to eat them over a dozen times now...and very time I feel sick to my stomach afterwards. So weird.

I don't do low-fat cheese of low fat versions of anything, but I do love yogurt, even fat free Greek, my fave.

You could be sensitive to them. It's not a common allergy in adults but it is for infants.

Katie816 04-09-2013 10:13 PM

Cottage cheese, any diet drink, (diet coke, crystal light, etc...) protein bars, and low fat cheese are all pretty terrible. Greek yogurt was hard to get used to at first, but now there's several favors of it that I love.

Nichole2013 04-09-2013 10:14 PM

Cottage cheese is soo gross ! its not so much the taste of it but The texture that gets to me. I cant even Bring myself to swallow it my throat closes up..its like my body is saying "you've got to be kidding"

Any type of seafood ! between what happened in the gulf and the fukushima incident I just don't think its safe to be eating it. and nothing will ever convince me otherwise.

Rice cakes..i dont think i need to explain myself on this one !but to me its like eating artificially flavored styrofoam

wannaskipandlaugh 04-09-2013 10:27 PM

Oh NO Oysters, Clams, Mussels of any kind... After doing dissections.. NO no no no nono no.....

No Tomatoes, Cucs, peppers, mushrooms, MUSTARD, smelly cheeses......

Texture and taste does do me in...

kellie105 04-09-2013 11:04 PM

cottage cheese, humus, celery, all milk, tofu...uugghhh

Curvycurly 04-09-2013 11:18 PM

Oh yes, how could I forget milk.. well I should say milk by itself.
I'm fine having a little bit in my cereal and could drink chocolate milk all day :D
but plain milk... no way:moo:

shcirerf 04-09-2013 11:28 PM

Tofu! Yikes! Pretty sure it ranks up there with that green slime stuff you use to in your bicycle tires to keep them from going flat.

The stuff is just wrong!

After that, buttermilk, ick!

ICUwishing 04-10-2013 07:31 AM

There's a whole lot more of "won't eats" in my world than there are things I don't like. I'm apparently one of the so-called supertasters - broccoli in almost every form makes me gag. However, I force it down since it's a nutritional powerhouse, and because DH/DS absolutely love and crave it. A sprinkle of balsamic vinegar seems to cut the retch factor somewhat. :barf:

Organ meats. I simply will not eat guts.

dangerouscurvesahead 04-10-2013 08:37 AM

LOL! I posted earlier but once i read these i had flashes of eewww! I hate cottage cheese! Ive never even tried tofu and just dont think its something i ever will, to weird. Diet sodas? Ugh id rather drink swamp water than drink them! No oysters, they look like something someone hocked up!
Non-foods... i cant stand reality tv shows or soap operas. Jerry Springer good god wtf?!
No. 1 on my list... drives me absolutely crazy to see trash on the side of the road, along my area beaches and thru my area parks!

the shiv 04-10-2013 08:44 AM

Tomatoes! Gah!! And broccoli and cauliflower. Not good. And soup. ANY soup. And diet food! Special K tastes like cardboard! Those muller light yoghurts taste of nothing but sweetener. Not a big fan of water either, but sometimes I get a taste for it, and quite like it with lemon juice. Oh, courgettes. Avocados.

It's pretty much all about the texture. Like, I hate tomatoes, but tomato based sauces etc are fine. Hate avocados, love guacamole.

Oh, and... Fish paste. What the ****?! UGH.

celigirl88 04-10-2013 09:10 AM

Greek Yogurt is probably at the top of my list. I have tried almost every single flavor, every brand, etc etc. I just can't seem to grab a liking for it. Cottage cheese as well. I can stomach it in REALLY small doses, especially with fruit but anything more than that I can't stand. Coconut water - so tasteless and gross. I'm really not a fan of any "beans", like lentils, lima beans, etc etc. I'm not a picky eater by any means but those are the things that turn me off the most.

Doomkitty 04-10-2013 10:52 AM

I'm not a fan of cottage cheese. I can eat it but it's not something I crave.

Yogurt...I was into it for a while, mostly due to the fact that I forced it until I acclimated, but now that I've stopped eating it I don't really want it anymore...

Most raw veggies...they need to be cooked. And most beans...

Energy/protein/whatever bars...of any kind...

cbmare 04-10-2013 12:33 PM

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hates Greek yogurt. I think your taste buds are broken if you like that crap.

I love beans EXCEPT green beans. YUCK! They squeak in your mouth! They have to be boiled down to mush before I'll eat them. However, the exception is mixed bean salad. When they are pickled with kidney beans and chick peas, I can handle them.

Eggplant in any form. Don't like the Asian skinny ones either.

Spaghetti squash. Whoever came up with the idea that this stuff is a good substitute for pasta should be forced to eat an entire squash.

Avocado. I don't understand why anyone wants to put cow snot on chips or in any food. It is gross looking as well.

Pork chops. I don't care what you do to them, they are dry.

Tomatoes that are not home grown. There are just some things that should not be served year round in most climates. Tomatoes are one of those. The store bought ones taste as good as the cardboard in which they are packaged. My garden will be prepped for them this weekend. Homegrown is the only way to go. (Or from a farmer's market).

I don't care for al denté pasta. Finish cooking it for crying out loud. This half cooked pasta crap is just that. Asian noodles are OK. They aren't too cheap to use more power to finish cooking them.

Brussels sprouts. Brussels can keep them. I like most cabbages but not this one.

Rosemary. OH BARF!!!! This stuff stinks, permeates all food and tastes like soap. I don't care if you flash it in a dry pan, it wreaks and kills taste buds. Some restaurant people seem to think that a rosemary spring as garnish is a neat idea. WRONG!

I don't care for Italian food for the most part. I'm sure it is because of the half cooked pasta. If I can order something on the menu that doesn't have rosemary or pasta in it, I can usually tolerate it. For the most part, I avoid Italian restaurants.

Indian and Pakistani foods are lower than Italian food on my list. Just don't like them. Add Afghani food to that list as well. Too much cardamom and caraway.

White wine. Can't stand the crisp type wine. It has to be a sweet white, like Riesling, for me to drink any of it and then it is a few sips. I will cook with it but that's about it.

Coffee. Love the smell, especially when I'm camping in the mountains but can't stand the taste. Well, I like it if it has chocolate and Kahlua in it. I had one of those sometime in the mid 90s. LOL.

Geez, I didn't realize that I hated so many different things until I started this list.

Sum38 04-10-2013 12:41 PM

cbmare   You listed all item that I LOVE!! I could never have you over for dinner;HAHAH! You would leave my house totally disgusted.

Your taste buds are broken.

Sum38 04-10-2013 03:14 PM

cbmare LOL...guess what I had as an afternoon snack? Roasted Brussels Sprouts. I had 1/2 pound!! My DH can not understand how I can love them. :D

XLMuffnTop 04-10-2013 03:14 PM

As another mentioned, I don't like organ meats. I also don't really like a lot of fruit. I'll eat some of it here and there but I definitely don't do stone fruit. I just double up on veggies. :)

Oh, I also don't like green bell peppers. I love red, orange and yellow but I just don't like something about the taste of the green.

I love greek yogurt and will never have the regular kind, especially the "light" varieties ever again. I'll thrown down on almost any vegetable under the sun though. I love all types of fish but have a hard time with sea "walkers", crabs, lobsters and such.

Novus 04-10-2013 03:29 PM

To all you tofu haters: it's one of those foods that you have to prepare correctly in order to enjoy it.

Someone once told me that she just took tofu and cubed it up and threw it on a salad, and from that experience she determined she was a tofu hater. Well, duh. Tofu needs to be pressed and drained and marinated and flavored and cooked (preferably seared).

I eat it "fried." I usually head to our local Asian supermarket (the largest one in our state is in my town) and buy it fried in triangles. It's low calorie and not high in fat, as the name may suggest.

I use the fried tofu and make my stir fries and dishes with that. If not, it would just be the consistency of jello :(

I don't like them either, now that you mention it!

Agreed!

Oh boy, I hate this stuff. Detest it. I used to get mashed potatoes at school sometimes and every so often, someone would get the brilliant idea to dump Rosemary in. If you bit into one of the little bits wrong, ugh, just so gross. So bitter!

Missy Krissy 04-10-2013 04:48 PM

Rosemary is my all time favorite herb!

Missy Krissy 04-10-2013 04:49 PM

Sum38, I guess maybe you should have me over for dinner instead of cbmare, because I love all of her hates too!

elvislover324 04-10-2013 05:03 PM

This thread is so funny, there is some passion here about foods we hate!

wangela87 04-10-2013 05:14 PM

I'm also not a big fan of greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and I don't know but banana as well  ... although most of the fruit I eat. Well, for health reasons and in order to keep up with my "healthy lifestyle" (really trying to) I'm forcing myself sometimes for healthier options like cottage cheese and greek yogurt even if I really don't like the taste that much

Lecomtes 04-10-2013 05:17 PM

Not a fan of Brussel Sprouts, but I force myself to eat them at least once or twice a month because I know they are super good for you...okay...maybe only because my kids are watching...LOL

ChickieBoom 04-10-2013 05:21 PM

Wow...I'm reading through all of these responses and I can't say that there's any food that I dislike. I'm deathly allergic to peas, beans and cauliflour but other than that, I can make myself like just about anything.

Wait...I hate celery. I HATE it. It's disgusting and crunchy, stringy, nasty and it freaks me out when I see people eating it with peanut butter. Anything that makes peanut butter taste bad should be banned from life.

Wait! If you hate it, don't eat it. Forcing yourself to eat something because it is supposedly healthy and you hate it is actually punishing yourself.

LOL. I can't stand stringy celery. I shave mine so there are no strings. How you feel about celery is how I feel about avocado.

I was looking at your progress. Have you really lost over 100 lbs since Sept or were you working on it before you joined here? Your goal is waving at you.

cbmare 04-10-2013 05:51 PM

While we are at it - add chocolate and raspberries or orange to my list.

Chocolate and cherries or even pineapple are good together.

Cali Doll 04-10-2013 06:05 PM

I hate strawberry cheesecake, potato chips and dip, cheesy french fries, hot fudge over ice cream, moist chocolate chip cookies with milk!

I'm just kidding. :D

Actually I have to add a real one to my list. Someone mentioned it above: ORGAN MEAT! Eeeeeeewww! I cannot eat organs...liver, kidney, brain, eye balls, heart, intestines...yuck, yuck, yuck!!

Remington90 04-10-2013 08:00 PM

Cottage cheese, regular milk.. vile. Have never liked it, never will.

My WORST thing that i can't stand, and I try regularly to get over it.. is Tomatoes. I've tried the normal tomato, cherry, yellow, orange you name it. I just cannot do it. Even on a burger. If they're cooked in spaghetti sauce or something, it just blends in and I can deal.

My boyfriend eats tomatoes like an apple with pepper and salt. *shudder*.

And Ice cream. ughhh the thought makes my stomach knot up. Any kind at all is just bleh.

Frozen Yogurt and gelatto on the other hand, YUM.

Katie816 04-11-2013 04:21 PM

Milk. I don't know how I forgot it on my earlier list but I've never liked it, I won't even put it on cereal.

I started in June but I found myself looking for some support in September and stumbled into 3FC. I can't even wrap my head around being at goal. I'm trying not to think about it too much and just stay on plan!

You are doing great! What is your plan?

Where is DMV? To me it means Department of Motor Vehicles. LOL.
