Default Craving food you don't really like?

I have this insane craving for beans. I do not like beans. I never have. I haven't ate them in years but I crave them all the time for at least a couple of months now.

Honestly I only experienced what you're describing when I was pregnant.

Maybe try and eat a little serving of beans to see if your craving goes away?

I used to dislike a lot of foods when I was younger. One of them was avocados.

In my 20s I did that Optifast thing that Oprah did. I lost 40lbs. Then the ex talked me in to going on a 20 mile hike, while I was still doing the fast thing. About 10 miles in I completely lost it (it was my first hike ever) and broke into the cache of food we brought along. Its when I discovered avocados were fabulous!

Have loved them ever since, but I dumped the ex.

I actually love a lot of the foods that didn't taste good to me before. Some of them were a surprise to me (like greens). Still holding out on okra.

Sometimes our cravings are more about what nutrients we're missing. Perhaps there's something in the green beans that your body needs. Try them out. They won't kill you.

Yes to what geoblewis said! I am amazed now at the things that I like... and yes, avocados are among them! Once all the chemicals and junk from the processed foods got out of my system, I can actually taste and appreciate real food again. Why not try some beans? You might find out you LIKE them.

I make an effort to try something new or that I "dislike" every time I go to the store.. surprising how much of it I find I like.

What kind of beans? I have a lot of recipes. Let me know and I'll share.

I've had this happen. I always randomly crave foods. The weirdest one was those Crab Chips (just potato chips with old bay on them). I HATED them the first time I tried them. Then, a few weeks later, I started craving them and had to buy a bag.

I try foods I used to hate every once in a while. I discovered a love for yellow mustard, which used to gag me when I was younger.

When I first started losing I would have insane cravings for Oreos. I've never liked Oreos and maybe had them once or twice my whole life. It was very strange. Nowadays I'm constantly craving fruit. I never was a big fruit eater but now I crave it for breakfast and late at night. At least it's not Oreos anymore!

Sometimes I think you crave things when you have some sort of nutritional need. Beans are healthy enough so I think its worth indulging it.

For me, I don't really like hamburgers, but every so often when I have my period, I find myself craving them. I take that as a sign I need to eat something with more iron (usually steak) and the cravings go away!

I've always hated seafood my entire life. Even anything mild like tilapia. Yet just a few days ago I've had an intense craving for fish and shrimp.
