Default TTC after pill , whats yor experiences?

So me and hubby to be have decided we want to start a family. As soon as we are married In may.
However im on the Cerezette pill and at first wasnt going to come off untill after the wedding but now i feel I may come off a few months before.
To get the pill out my system as ive read it can take a while after the pill especially the one im on. ( its a pop pill and i take it everyday and dont have periods)
I dont really care about being pregnant on my wedding day , but i dont think it will happen that fast anyway.
I was thinking on coming off i in feb so thats still another 5months or so to still continue my weightloss and get in better shape for pregnancy x
Whats your experiences thanks x

I was on the pill for 4 years straight.

Stopped taking it and my conceptions were:
2 months
18 months (! this was a shock....!)
2 months (after miscarriage of the 18 month conception and resulted in fraternal twins, extra ovulation)

I would consider in factors- do you have anything like PCOS, are you 20 or 40, etc? Those things can change a woman's mind about when to TTC.

Just IMO but I would not want to be pregnant on my wedding day. At best, you are dealing with annoying fittings for your dress (2nd-3rd trimester). At worst, you are vomiting and falling asleep at the table (1st trimester).

Ive also been on pill 4 years straight by time i come off will be 4.5 years. Im 28. I would only be coming off a little before my wedding simply to get pill out my system. But i know its a hit and miss on when you conceive, im guessing it wont be straight away but It could be !! :/

I'm 28 as well (25 with the first, 27 with the second, and 28 with the third). It may happen quite quick for you.

I was on the pill for 7 years before TTC our 1st. It took 7 months. I went right back on after she was born. Over a year and a half later we decided to TTC our 2nd (and last), we conceived that very first try!

I was just reading a thread yesterday where people were saying that women who go on the Ideal Protein diet are warned that they pill might not work and they might want to consider back up forms of contraception. So, maybe you can just go on IP for a while!

I had been on the pill for 7 years and was pregnant my first ovulation after forgetting to start my pill on time (not planned, but a wonderful surprise)! So it can happen reeeeeealllly quickly for some.

I personally wouldn't want to be pregnant on my wedding day because you just don't know how your pregnancy would be. If you want to go off the pill prior to your wedding date, then I would suggest using condoms.

I got pregnant the first cycle after I stopped taking the pill. And I spent the next 3 months throwing up multiple times a day. I would have been miserable getting married so nauseous. You can't know how pregnancy is going to be for you - I would wait, or stop taking the pill and use condoms.

I agree with the poster who said you can stop taking it now and just use condomns til your ready. NFP or Natural Family Planning with cervical mucus observation is a pretty good method for conception and it helps you understand your body's natural rhythms. It's worth reading up on. Good Luck!
