Cool Greatness- Nike Commercial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsXRj89cWa0

The above is a controversial nike commercial featuring a 200 lb twelve year old boy jogging. I think it's inspiring, but others think it is unrealistic. What do you think?

I saw it when I was watching the Olympics. Why is it considered controversial!? I think it's inspiring! And how is it unrealistic??? He's a real boy, and he's really running, that's as real as it gets.

I love it, personally!

Its so funny that you posted this. I love the commercial. It is realistic and one of the things NIKE does best with their campaigns. They hit where it counts and their slogans are always insightful. Always. I think their advertising is amoung the best in the industry. Who doesn't know "just do it".

I think it's wonderful too! Can't understand why there would be any controversy over it either. Go, NATHAN, go ...

I was running on the treadmill yesterday morning and saw him on the Today show. They interviewed the kid and he said it was fun and exciting to be in the commercial.

Now if he can just stay that weight and grow to be over six feet tall...

Well, apparently he had to stop and puke in the bushes while he was running...

To the person who needs it , it is inspiring.
To those who don't need it, ignore it and don't criticize those that do .

I also saw it (a lot) during the Olympics and thought it was a great ad. Not all athletic heroes are people who can run fast or jump high. Some are people just trying their best.

I watched it a few times and wasn't particularly inspired. For a Nike commercial, this seemed to hit below the mark to me. It's not controversial (I think the issue was exploitation of an overweight kid, but c'mon, he got paid for it so who got exploited lol) it just, to me, wasn't a very good commercial.

Something in the execution of the ideas just didn't work for me.

I love the commercial. To me, it's a lot more inspiring and motivational than some skinny, gorgeous chick running (who's not struggling, breathing hard, or breaking a sweat).

I like the whole Find Your Greatness campaign by Nike. It's simple but it's something we can relate to and strive for.

I never seen it until now. I like it and if it will help someone, even just one person to get up and try than it's a great commercial.
