What Are You Reading AUGUST 2012

Happy August everyone! Please share with us what you are currently reading and what you have planned coming down this month.

Right now I am half way through A Rip in Heaven And it is very disturbing so far. An unreal true story.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through The Road. Excellent, but very dark. If I can find a copy of one of Maeve Binchy's novels that I have I will reread one of those next. She's one of my favorite authors and she passed away very recently.

This is the first month in over a year that I've had time to read something not related to my thesis work! I started Behind the Beautiful Forevers today. I also hope to read Night Circus and Secret Daughter this month.

(can't link to them because my post count isn't high enough)

The road is one of my favorite books!

I am reading Catch-22. I didn't finish/like Portnoy's Complaint.

I just finished re-reading The Great Gatsby. I figured I ought to refresh myself before the movie comes out. I'm glad I did. It's a quick read and I had really forgotten quite a bit of it.

Next up? Who knows--I must have a dozen new books on my Kindle!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I intend to finish the series before the end of summer.

Just finished "Catching Fire" (second book in Hunger Games trilogy) and will eagerly start reading Mockingjay this weekend. Woo!

Clydegirl 08-01-2012 04:39 PM

I'm reading "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova.

My first vampire book. Didn't know if I would like it but can't put it down.

I'm about halfway through with Redshirts. A must for any Star Trek fan.

I am currently reading 'Me Talk Pretty One Day' by David Sedaris. It has made me laugh out loud! A great read.

Not sure what is next for me.

Re-reading Pride and Prejudice. Love that book so much.

Also listening to the Harry Potter audio book series again, good way to pass the time at work and on the road.
