Second half of the baseball season.
It's time to start a new thread, the other one is getting very long.
All Star Break about to start and we have some surprises in the standings. Pirates first place in the Central, Andrew McCutchen is a beast. I've seen him play against us. That last series we played against the Pirates I said just intentionally walk him. He is a well deserved All Star. Who would have thought the Phillies would be in last place. And look how well Baltimore is doing. So come in and chat about baseball and have some fun. |
A new thread is just what the Disabled Sox need - the last thread seemed to be hobbling their style.
A fresh start. Let by-gones be by-gones. Today is the first day of the rest of the season. Fenway Franks continue to be rated as one of the best hot dogs in major league baseball. |
WE lose 15 out of the last 20 and still end up in 1st place at the break....
it's quite MAGICAL :wizard: and a lot of doo-doo too! |

I like that starting line-up for the National League. :carrot:
|
I am kind of ho-hum about the All Star games, but I'll probably watch anyway. I just don't like that a rookie, like Bryce Harper, will go and he hasn't played a full season of major league baseball. It's just because he is a media highlight story, good or bad, waiting to happen. Ugh.
Well, that was probably a clown question bro.... :) |
Hey the Red Sox are back at 500, so it is like starting a new season...
Bits and Pieces: Carl Crawford will need TJ surgery but will try to play this season, huh ? Youkilis named AL Player of the Week... Taking a break now :coffee: Enjoy the AS Game :corn: Go AL ! Sox will need the home turf |

Not big on the All-Star game either. I will probably see some of it but Angie and I are taking our Vicar and his wife out for a nice Italian dinner since they leave end of this week for his last year in the seminary. Oh, and nothing against Bryce and he has all the "tools" to be a great one...but All-Star worthy for his performance and time put in this year....nope! |
Thanks for starting the new thread Clydegirl :)

And Matt Cain of The SF Giants is starting pitcher at the All Star Game .
|
I will be MIA for a while. We are going to Orlando tomorrow to see my daughter and Mickey of course.
Enjoy the All Star Game and see you guys next week. |
Aww, we'll miss Clyde!!
I do have to say that Prince was pretty darned amazing last night. |
Missed all but the 9th inning...
Angie and I took our Vicar and his wife out to dinner... like the outcome! |
Oh Well. Home field advantage is so over rated.
[Note to Self: Just put away a few extra Fenway Franks in advance.] |
I didn't watch a lot, just the first inning. That was something else.
Glad for home field advantage for the NL! |
I need a fix man :hyper:, really need a fix
|
Even though the Rox are just awful this year, I am missing it too! It starts tonight for us.
|
Double steal of home plate ???
It's awful to have the Red Sox lose. But we do so standing up with pride.
As differs from that exhibition of two West Coast teams with a rare steal of home plate followed by an ultra rare - if not the first outside of Little League - second steal of home plate while the pitch took a nap on my mound as the catcher went to the screen to look for the lost ball. Good thing the bases weren't loaded, LOL, since a triple steal might have annoyed the unfazable Dodgers fans. |
Hello everyone.
Back home now the Cards can start winning again. How about that All Star Game!! :D That Tony LaRussa is a mastermind. ;) I know that was so last week. |
Oh boy, Bill. I hadn't heard of that! I'll have to go read some stories from the past weekend. Baseball fans just have to be tough to handle these types of things!!
|
We are bringing up a young pitcher from AA to help our awful bullpen.
Milwaukee for 3 games. |
Weird seeing Youkilis in White Sox uniform tonight.
He got an extended standing O and tipped his cap to all corners of the park. He got a hit first at bat and Fenway stood up again. Fenway Faithful at its best. So happy to have Ellsbury and Crawford back from the DL. Nice way to start the second half. |
Won the game in the 9th inning last night.
I'll take it :) |
Why can't we score with RISP?
Awful. |
I feel your pain, Clyde. Two times, bases loaded, strike out on 3rd out. Ugh. Lost last night to Pirates. Won the night before, so we'll see what happens today.
|
Tourniquets for all....STOP the bleeding!
|
:censored:
|
winner....yawn
|
We have one more game with the White Sox, we've won 2 of 3.
Yanks are leading by 10 games. Playing last place Jays this weekend. Pedroia back tonight and for the first time this year the every day players will take the field together. WOW GO Sox ! Enjoy your games :corn: |
Have I mentioned how much fun it is to have the Rockies rookie league in our town??? They are fun to watch, excited to play, and grateful for their fans! Gotta love the Grand Junction Rockies!!
------nothing positive to say about the Colorado Rockies........ |
So I stopped paying attention to the Red Sox game after 8 innings - with us losing 1-0.
I've been patiently waiting this morning for Sweetcaroline to come announce that she was at the game when we hit a walk off home run with one out with two on in the bottom of the ninth. Patiently waiting . . . I'm suspicious that she was sitting atop the green monster and just sucked that ball over. Patiently waiting . . . |
That was AWESOME :sssh: on replay
Way too much to watch last night :D Love Walk offs and Buchholtz was tremendous, we are on our way up ! |
Cards and Cubs this weekend at Busch Stadium.
Heading to the game tonight. We are not going up or down just hanging out in the middle :( |

That's a winner.
Matt Holliday hit the longest home run ever at Busch tonight, 469 feet. |
Another loss :headache: why can't we beat the last place teams and make up some ground on those dumb Rays and Orioles...
Lovely road trip coming up, headed to Texas and New York:censored: Oh yes- indeedie, I'm feeling very positive about our team right now :snooty: |
And we sweep the wee bears.
Now look who's coming to town! ;) |
