Lightbulb To Juice or not to Juice

So ive had mixed reviews on this with family. But is fruit juice like for example, cranberry, apple and pineapple juice ruin a diet?
If i do ever have juice i do my best to go towards the made out of 100% juice and not concentrate. But now i hear even 100% is bad.
gets kinda confusing...
What do you all think ????

Well it still has a lot of calories and sugar in it. I think it's very similar to the amount in fizzy drinks but it's not the exact same of course. For a diet I prefer to get my calories from food and if I want fruit I'll eat fruit. I used to drink more juice before I realised just how many calories are in it. If you enjoy some juice and it's not affecting your weight loss efforts then go for it, everybody's different.

I drink juice with vodka.. y'know, the healthy option.

You can eat more food if you don't drink juice, but if you really like juice and can limit your caloric intake around it, drink it.

I think from a pure health standpoint it's "better" to eat fresh whole fruit, but it's all a matter of what's sustainable and bearable/enjoyable for your lifestyle!

I was grossed out when I saw how many calories and grams of sugar are in juice. I had been operating under the assumption that juice was a healthy drink. I cut it out years ago. I drink water 99.8% of the time but if I'm going to drink that many calories, I'll have a soda or a cocktail.

If you want juice but want to save calories, you could try what my mother does for herself and my young siblings. 1/2 glass juice, 1/2 glass water.

I rarely drink juice, but if I do then I make sure that it is not prepackaged. God knows how many additives are thrown in there. I make my own juice, and then dilute it (about 5 parts to 1) with seltzer water.

Particularly after watching, "Sugar the Bitter Truth", I am not a fan of juice. It is essentially sugar water. Yes, it has some vitamins. But it contributes to obesity and blood sugar issues. Eating a whole piece of fruit is MUCH healthier. The fiber is the "antidote" to the sugar, and you'll also get less of a calorie count because one piece of fruit will probably satisfy your craving and for less calories than a glass of juice would.

I'm my opinion, most juices that are sold in the stores have too much sugar. Since December, I stopped buying store bought juice and started juicing my own juice. I purchased a GE juicer at WalMart at started buying fresh fruits AND veggies and started making my own juice . It helped me lose weight. I'm down 40 lbs because of it.

Although all fruits have certain amounts of sugar, it's just healthier to try your best to stay away from store bought juice.

I'd much rather eat my sugar than drink it! A handful of berries has the same amount of sugar as like 1 oz of juice. Ditto on the fiber argument, too.

I might enjoy juice someday in the future, but I don't think of it in terms of a health drink. I pretty much avoid it because of the sugar & calorie content. In terms of non-alcoholic beverages (a different animal,) I only drink water and the occasional unsweetened almond milk, diet soda, or coconut water if I find it necessary.

I always enjoyed a fruit juice, but as others have pointed out, there is a lot of sugar in them. I drink diet cordial now, like a tropical or orange and mango or cranberries and apple...etc It's not the same, but after getting used to the taste it's a better option.

Another nice thing is a jug of water with a strawberry chopped in to fine pieces and thin slices of lemon. I just let them sit in the jug for a while and they sort of break down and it just adds a nice fresh taste to the water.
