Tea lovers!

So we know lots of teas can have great health benefits what's your favorite kind? What brand? I'm always hunting for teas to try out and I'd love to hear about some more :) my favorite type of tea has to be mints and green tea, and I get a lot of my teas from a company called the spice and tea exchange and those are lose leaf teas.

Plexi 05-18-2012 07:29 AM

My personal favorite flavor it Jasmine Green tea, so aromatic and delish, just add a pack of splenda and enjoy :D (Good Hot or chilled)

tavvy 05-18-2012 08:00 AM

pure mint is my favorite!
Rooibos is a close second

nelie 05-18-2012 08:10 AM

I'm mostly a chai drinker but drink a variety. Stash has a green chai that is nice.

I ordered some jasmine blossoms recently. I love jasmine tea.

I drink a mix of loose leaf and bagged, partially for convenience.

And it's not 'tea' but I read recently about chocolate tea where you steep cocoa nibs. So I bought some to try and it is pretty cool.

I'm also pretty much a plain tea drinker unless it comes to chai where I might add some soy milk and stevia.

sontaikle 05-18-2012 08:12 AM

Plain ole Lipton tea. I love it with nothing in it.

It makes me happy that I can get it anywhere.

Thedollylala 05-18-2012 08:12 AM

I just started using stevia in the raw to sweeten my teas I really enjoy it.

SugarRomeoTango4852 05-18-2012 08:13 AM

I love Green Tea with Mint. SO DELICIOUS.

I can easily drink 8 cups a day...which might not be good for me....

Thedollylala 05-18-2012 08:24 AM

Hey if its caffeine free or low caffeine shouldn't be that bad... >.>

I have a cup of heavenly hip hibiscus brewing, I love me some tea, I think it's honestly a hobby too, given I have more teapots than what I really need

ghlover 05-18-2012 08:26 AM

I like the fruit teas from Celestial Seasonings

nina125 05-18-2012 12:25 PM

I noticed that tea from UK taste much better than the ones here in the US.. Even the twinnings that my BIL sends from Scotland tastes way better than the ones you get here. I usually buy Tetley from an Indian store or the International Isle from my local supermarket.

Ocassionally, I will drink Sencha green tea. Those have to be brewed just right otherwise it turns bitter.

LeilaJey 05-18-2012 04:21 PM

Fennel tea is one of my favourites. It's an appetite suppressant too (apparently) and seems to be good for digestion, especially if anything's running too fast or too slow. Ahem.

I love a lot of the Yogi tea brand, little bit of spice to them. And I drink a lot of blackberry & nettle. Yum.

guacamole 05-18-2012 04:27 PM

Yorkshire tea. It is so rich and satisfying!

Ramra 05-18-2012 04:49 PM

The other day my sister introduced me to peach tea. It sounded kind of yucky to me at first, but I put a sweetener and a table spoon of cream in it, and it was YUMMY. Like, hot liquid dessert! It's great if you're a low-carber, but if you're a calorie counter you can use low-fat milk. I wouldn't reccommend it plain. :P

Shaper 05-18-2012 04:58 PM

I enjoy Earl Grey (hot:), green tea brewed with cinnamon and chai. I really love chai.

Rooibos is nice too. I really should try and get some.

I used to drink tea frequently but my tea drinking has plummeted recently. I think I will go make myself a cup. :)

I haven't heard of this.. I'm intrigued o.O

My favorite tea is Tazo Zen which is green tea with lemongrass and spearmint.

I drink 2-4 pitchers of cheap, plain, unsweetened, cold brewed, iced green tea a week though. In the morning I'll have a hot cup of english breakfast or green, both plain and unsweetened, if the house is cold enough.

junebug41 05-18-2012 06:33 PM

I love hibiscus tea. If I can't find loose leaves, the Tazo Passion flavor suffices.

aseret123 05-18-2012 08:50 PM

I love me some good ol' PG Tips!

zoritsa 05-18-2012 10:04 PM

I love my chai tea.I have green tea chai and black tea chai. With a little bit of stevia in it,it's almost like a dessert.I also like dandelion tea,but it seems popular atm, because I can't seem to find it in the health food stores I normally get it at.Celestial Seasonings has a Sleepy Time Tea that is also good for a nighttime tea.

@ the bolded - do you make the green chai blends yourself? I ask because I've never seen green chai for sale.

Thedollylala 05-18-2012 10:15 PM

I love making chai lattes too, with some silk soy milk so much yummy!! And add some cinnamon!

You're welcome!

imnotperfect24 05-18-2012 10:29 PM

I love Green Tea with honey. It's really good! No sugar at all because of the honey.. Yummy!

Thedollylala 05-18-2012 10:38 PM

I'm so ordering this, looks so yummy maybe because I'm such a coconut fan

I don't know how I could have forgotten this one.I went to Colorado to visit some friends and they had this tea. They got it at a hair salon. This would be my favorite tea of all time,if I was able to buy it in the stores by me :D It requires no sweetners because of the flavors in the tea which has licorice in it.

EatMoreCelery 05-19-2012 08:16 PM

I love most all hot drinks... teas...coffees! To me they're like dessert! :) :coffee2:

Lipton's regular black tea is hard to beat.
Bigelow's Constant Comment and Twining's Irish Breakfast Tea are my favorites for mornings.

Presently, I'm going through every brand of green tea at the market to find the one with the most/best flavor. So far, all are good with the exception of one... Tetley's Green Tea has very little flavor.

nelie 05-19-2012 08:21 PM

Trader Joe's Irish breakfast is pretty good but we do regularly buy Yorkshire tea.

imnotperfect24 05-19-2012 08:45 PM

I also like sweet tea.. I cant help it.. I put "VERY" little sugar in it.. Just enough to give it a sweet taste. and I use sugar substitute.. the ones that they say is better for you. Anyway. Any kind of sweet tea. Except the kind i had the other day at a restaurant. They put WAYYYYY to much sugar tasted like sugar with a side of tea. lol

i33BabyGirl33i 05-19-2012 09:03 PM

Me personally i like to keep it plain and simple green tea :D

Riddy 05-19-2012 10:31 PM

I LOVE tea - I have a whole cupboard full of mostly tea.

Some of my favorites -
Yogi tea - ginger, raspberry ginger, calming, vanilla hazelnut
Stash - raspberry pomegranate green
for iced - any fruity Celestial Seasonings - brew it up cold in my water bottle
Spice and Tea Exchange - ginger turmeric, coconut oolong, mint chilla chai nilla - http://www.spiceandtea.com/teas-c-4....7cplghiedor982

My local tea shop - blueberry green, coconut cacao pu-erh, coconut black, salted caramel black, raspberry lavender, chocolate chai http://www.thewhistlingkettle.com/teas.html

That Zhena's coconut chai is awesome, too!

Mmmm, time to make another cup! :coffee2:

IndigoBanshee 05-19-2012 10:40 PM

My new favorite is Teavana's Weight To Go pu-erh mixed with black tea. I dunno how to describe the taste, but I'm totally addicted. I think it might be one of those things you either love or hate, though.

Next time I will try their strawberry pu-erh.

KylieH 05-20-2012 12:03 AM

We just got home from our local tea shop with some new and wild things to try. We were in a bit of a rut--earl grey, etc. Now, we're fully off-roading with organic chai (the red chai looked really good maybe next time), pomegranate/cranberry iced tea, French breakfast, and a hibiscus/lemon grass. It's a great store! She's online too if you want to know more. Www.tea-lady.com.

avalonswalk 05-20-2012 03:30 AM

I love Green tea. Its my goal to try new teas as I go on this weight loss journey. Next up is Darjeeling.

I buy Stash green chai as well but I've seen other brands with it too. Stash also makes an organic green/black chai blend.

losermom 05-20-2012 10:11 AM

I love the regular Good Earth tea. I always have a box at my work desk. It's so cold at work. I used to prefer another cup of coffee but don't need the extra caffeine, until I found this. I like some regular chai with some fancy sugar-free creamer at home during the colder months after dinner too.

Sinoia 05-20-2012 12:10 PM

Roibos tea (red bush tea) is the healthiest tea I have found.

Mizzthingaling 05-20-2012 01:43 PM

Boxed- Celestial Lemon Zinger ( This stops my sweet cravings)
Loose- Hibiscus

I also love chai lattes and cinnamon tea.

If anyone knows of an affordable place to order loose tea, let me know.
