Default Well that's frustrating

Well that is frustrating. I bought a new pedometer this past weekend. i wanted to see how many steps I took in a day and how hard it would be to get to 10,000. Yesterday I laid on my bed to read my book, and cleared out the thing. I went on a picnic with a friend and the kiddos today, and laid down again to play with her 1 year old, and again cleared it out. Grrrrrr

I feel your pain. Last week my new pedometer arrived and I loved it. I clipped it to my waistband and like you I was watching it to see how close I could get to 10,000 steps. On day 3 while I was a work I went to the bathroom and heard a splash as I was unbuttoning my pants. Yup, my new pedometer landed in the toilet!

Now I am debating if I should replace it.

Good luck with yours! And be careful!

LOL I did that once with my Blackberry! Lets say after many times that stupid phone was thrown around, dropped the water finally (not fully but mostly) killed it. Never leave things strapped to your belt or in your back pocket cause the toilet will eat it!

I solved that problem by clipping my pedometer to my shoe rather than to my waist. This seems to work very well even with the cheapest $3 pedometers.

I can't take credit for inventing the tip. I read it somewhere (possibly even here).

Amazon has many to choose from starting around $10 (if I remember correctly) going up to about $30.

That's great idea, clipping to your shoe! I'll have to try that once I replace my water logged one!

Ugh, how frustrating! The concept of it is great though, maybe I should get one. I wouldn't pay $30 though, 10 sounds like an acceptable price.

I've actually had the best luck with the $3-$5 ones from Walmart, Target, Farm & Fleet (or Fleetfarm).

Sadly (perhaps just my bad luck) the more expensive ones I've owned have had weaker clips, and they've fallen off only to be lost.

When I clipped them to my waist, the cheaper ones reset accidentally, but I've never had that problem when it's been clipped to my shoe. I originally bought the cheap ones because I was sick of losing my more expensive ones, and I figured if I'm going to lose them anyway, I'd rather lose $3-$5 than $10-$15.

And while I've lost several expensive pedometers, I've only lost one cheap one (and that was before learning to clip them onto my shoe).

I have to say, I bought the $100 fitbit. It clips to my bra. Tracks steps, mileage, and even stairs. I LOVE it.
