Lots of work, No motivation

  • I've found I'm really stuck right now. I've got a lot of work to do for my degree as well as revise for exams and I just can't bring myself to start it. I know it's all down to me to just get on and do it but I just seem to be stopping myself.

    E.g. I've got a dissertation to write on domestic violence and I don't have enough respondents. There are ways to get around it but I'm kind of letting it get to me more than I should and I seem to be waiting for more responses rather than just getting on with it. It kind of stressing me out and I'm avoiding it.

    It seems so strange that I am being so successful with what I eat and the exercise that I'm doing, it's almost like all my motivation is going into that and there's none left over for anything else. I'm fixated with food at the moment. Has this happened to anyone else?

    I'm fairly new to this effort and I'm hoping in a week or so I'll calm down and just get on with everything else.
  • Well focus on your school work dummy. You've come so far and you're almost finished. Just premake your meals so you don't have to think about it and grab one when it's time to eat. You don't have to put all your focus on it. School comes first.

    This made me laugh, lol. And yes, I'm having the same problem. Taking classes and trying to balance work and family and a healthy diet, ugh. It seems like something always ends up on the back burner. Sounds like you're getting the hang of healthy eating and now you have to get your balance back. Start setting some goals with your school work and dig in. And boy do I know, that's easier said than done. Sometimes our priorities shift a little. The weight loss will find it's place in your routine.

    Stay focused on what you need to do and little by little you'll get 'er done!!

    Think of the end result. Keep in mind what is important....your studies and your weight loss. YOU CAN do/handle them both.
    Get up in the morning and say, "I'm gonna have a productive day today."
