Default New Zealand Quake

I don't know if we have any New Zealanders on the site. If we do, I am thinking of you. I just can't believe the pictures we are getting here in the UK. NZ is such a beautiful country and Christchurch a lovely city. From what I can see, it seems much, much worse than last years earthquake. I know there are thousands of miles between the UK and you, but so many Brits have emigrated to this lovely country that we feel close to you.

Feeling terrible about this. I have a close friend in NZ near Christchurch and am very concerned.

My late husband's family are all there. They are all alive and unhurt, though they suffered extensive property damage. But I'm grateful. I feel ill to see what has happened to the city... it was a beautiful one. I know the spirit of the Kiwis, and it will be beautiful again. My heart is with you all.

I'm in Auckland so not directly affected, but the affects on the country are huge...we're so small and this is so big - the last 6 months have been especially tough for our country. Christchurch was hit with a first big quake in September, then there was the Pike River Mining tragedy late last year.
I'm not a religious person, but my prayers, for whatever they are worth, are with all of those suffering in my country at this time. Anyone out there willing to have us in your thoughts - please do so.
