Default what are your cures for skin cracks?

I get the everyonce in a while, usually in the dead of winter with the dry air and dry skin but now I'm getting them all year round. Usually I just wrap my finger or thumb up in bandaids or somesort of tape and go on.

I also wash my hands frequently daily at work and use lotion often.

Recently I've read some weird things on line that it could be a fungus. Yuck. I've read suggestions to wash your hands in dandruff shampoo and stuff like that. I do have some dandruff shampoo I use somethimes when I get an itchy scalp-again usually in the winter time.

But what have you done to make it better?

Anyone found any supplements to prevent them?

As far as lotion goes your best bet for sealing in moisture and healing the cracks would probably be Aquaphor Healing Ointment Skin Protectant. it's thick, comes pursesize tube (1.75 oz) it is thick like petroleum jelly so a tiny bit goes a long way. I also use it for dry lips.

I like Surgeon's Skin Secret (I use the beeswax stick but it also comes in tubes and jars of cream)

I've heard people use superglue. But that seems like it would burn.

My husband cracked his temple open and they superglued him back together but it was hospital grade glue.
