  • I would apply to TSU, but it is a historically black college...and 90% (or more) of the students are African American. It's not that I have a problem with that, but I am going to have a problem fitting in as it is...and I don't need to make myself stick out like an even sore-er thumb. That said I would still go there if there was anything about it that jumped out at me. I think I don't get into Vandy, I'll take off for a while longer, and then go to the local community college. But I'll need to be working full time, because then I'll be on my own.
  • I know what you mean...I just didn't know it was predominantly AA...but I totally know what you mean about fitting in....
  • Not like I have ever fit in anywhere...LOL...but it's worth a shot this time around!
  • I just recently moved to Nashville (in February!). I don't have many friends yet here either. I love this city though! I live in East Nashville.... which is really a super cool/hip place. Everyone here is really cool... lots of musicians/songwriters! You should look into moving to this side of town. I could help you find something.... there are some not so good parts of East Nashville as well as really nice parts and I could help you stay away from the not very desirable parts. My boyfriend used to work in the bar business and knows tons of people around town and could probably help you get a job in a bar somewhere if that's what you're looking for. Add me to Facebook if you want. My e-mail on there is [email protected].

  • Bumping an old thread because I'd like to know what Nashville/Tennessee girls are around!
  • I live about 30 minutes from Nashville. Be forewarned, though. There are some weird people in Nashville. My husband and I had to stay at a hotel there, and we walked by some crazy woman's room (which had the door open), and my husband just glanced at the room, because the door was open, and this lady comes flying out of there, and punches him in the ear. I just stared, horrified, and she looked at me and said "What?!" We didn't really go out of the hotel room until we had to leave after that. I think she was strung out or something.
  • This is a super old post but I'm originally from TN too! I haven't lived there for years but a part of my heart is always in Chattanooga. (Chattanooga Choo Choo, won't you choo choo me home!)
