Glory - my dad met Rupert at Sturgis (biker rally) and brought me back his autobio - he had a really, really rough upbringing and definitely isn't a "soft" guy, so probably comes off like a jerk to a lot of people. But more of his Survivor money has gone to charity than to his family, and he runs an amazing program for at-risk youth. So I love him despite the roughness. His charity also works with kids who are in gangs/in and out of jail, so he basically has to be the tough-guy who has a soft side in his every day life. I can definitely see how that would be abrasive, but I genuinely think he's a good guy regardless.
In his pre-show-airing interviews, he basically stated that he takes Russell on to "expose his evil".
I have never been a fan of Rob, and I liked Russell last season, and recognize that cockiness and swagger are part of the game, but...Michael Phelps won some medals, and not for being the fan favorite. Just saying.
Am sort of physically ill at the thought of Jeri and Coach, and honestly, am glad not to have to deal with another season of Sugar weeping (although last time her dad had just passed away, I believe, so I was way more sympathetic. Now I am less so).
