Thank you, Bargoo. I appreciate your efforts to maintain the high standards in this thread because I sure don't intend to!

The only standards I have are low standards. I'm only 5'2", if my standards were too high, I couldn't reach them.

Operator, you think you are short, I am only 5 feet. And Ruth, you mean to tell me we have high standards here ? I'd hate to see what low standards are if we are maintaining such dignity.
|
Bargoo, you think you're short, my oldest sis is only 4'11". Her DD couldn't wait until until she got taller than her mom. She never got there. She only made it to 4' 10".
|
I have a cousin who is only 4'10" but her brother always says "Her stature increases when she gives out the orders of the day ".
|
Which only serves to confirm once more that size doesn't matter, it's what you do with it.
|
-another shortie here! Mom is only 4'10" now - she used to be 5'! Scary to think I'll be getting shorter and those BMI charts will say I need to weigh even less than they say now!:p I've already lost 1/2 an inch while pregnant with the 1st DS....
Now, somehow I ended up with tall boys-12yo is 5'10" and 17 yo is 6'-they like to dress in black and wear sunglasses while walking with me in Walmart like I've got my own bodyguards or something:lol: People do actually look twice! Cracks the boys up!! |

Hey! We're past the halfway mark.
Just for the record, I'm a shorty too.......5' and I suspect I'm shrinking. It must be the pull of gravity. |
Ruthie, you gotta talk to the Mod Squad about getting all them games in their own Sub-Forum. Good night, they're all over the place.

Re Games Move: Right now we are dealing with some technical issues but it IS going to happen. Trust me!
I'm off to see my orthopaedic surgeon this morning to try to find out why an artificial knee still hurts 20 months after the replacement! Grrrr! If he tells me to just do yoga-breathing for the pain, I'll kick him and chose my target carefully! |
Good Morning!
Trying to get the kids into BACK 2 School routine. 13 days left. But I am the one struggling to get to bed on time and get up @ 7. I have really enjoyed the kids learning to leave me alone untill I get up. Its been 8 long years of the kids getting to me before the alarm does! LOL Operator - have you heard of our spunky 16 yr old Canadian punker named Shilo? She sings a song called Operator. And every single time I heard it I laugh and think of you! |

Julia-I Googled it, but, I couldn't find it.
Bargoo-I remember Sade's version of "Smooth Operator". Ruthie-I trust you to know exactly where to put your other knee. hehe And, Gary "lost it" a long time ago. |

WAKE UP!:D
HAPPY HUMP DAY! the WEEKEND IS 1/2 way here!:carrot: |
If it's almost the weekend, that means it's almost time for the 1st football game of the season!!!:woohoo:
I have to focus on that right now or I'll drive the 100 miles to my sil's house and kill her:mad: She just e-mailed us a bill for fil's funeral for over $900!! This is after she had told us there was plenty of money in his accounts to pay for the funeral SHE planned and wouldn't let US change any of the plans. I'm about to blow a gasket-it's a good thing she doesn't live any closer....... |
Ronnie, it might be worth killing her but not for $900 bucks. Actually, that's not a lot. My DH's funeral was very simple, no visitation, and was around $6K. I prepaid it so there was no big bill.
Today I am going insane with these drywall guys. EZ, help me! They talk all the time, loudly over the machine sounds and also play their radio at top volume so they can hear it. The dogs are going insane with having to bark every time there is a crescendo. The lawn contractor just arrived too so there are two mowers and a weed whacker roaring away outside. I think I'll put in my ear plugs. |
Ruth-Yeah, the total cost of the funeral was over $6000-the $900 is just our part of the $3000 she actually had no funds to pay, even though she told us she had the funds to pay for everything SHE had planned:mad:. DH and his other sis had told her as soon as we knew his dad was terminal that neither of our families had any money to pay for a funeral and we were assured that he had enough insurance money to pay for what she had arranged. Turns out that he either had no insurance (even though she said he did) or she was named the only beneficiary and has decided to keep it all herself. She has refused to produce any documents showing her as executor or even the will or insurance papers-everything has become very hush-hush all of a sudden. I'm putting the attorney's number on speed dial- I have to try to laugh about the whole mess or I'll just scream...and then the state trooper across the street will come to see who's being killed and there'll be a bunch of explaining to do and ....:dizzy:
I'm just hoping Dh's mom does some pre-planning now, so nothing will be left up in the air..... Good luck with all the noisy workers......I'd have to get out of there! |
OK, sounds like MissTNT needs to get some of her old stuff together and take care of some folks who are screwing with my sister ThreadKillers. Back in a bit. :bomb::bomb::bomb:
So, I can get to Iowa first, then Canada. Oh crap, now we need passports huh? :chin: Oh well, guess I'll have to trust y'all to handle it yourselves. Ronni-Your SIL sounds just like my middle sis during my mom's passing. Leaving it to a lawyer will save money on psychiatric bills later. ;) Ruthie-My kids finally pushed me to far and I exploded. They all found I could set off a pretty good explosion without ANFO. It's been "Everybody off the old lady's back" ever since. Just show the dumba**es what PO'd and post-menopausal looks like. They'll all show up with Ipods and ear buds tomorrow. :s: |
Thanks, Operator. They just finished up and left. Only one guy will be back tomorrow to "mud" so I'll just have the radio to contend with unless he talsk to himself. Actually Jazz just wandered into the new room and peed on the newspaper they left on the floor. Too bad it wasn't the radio! Hmmm,
|
Maybe Jazz will target in a little better when he has to crap. hehehehe :hyper:
|
HA! Ruth I am always having to yell at my guys for their radios being too loud! We don't care if they play them as long as the music and noise level is respectable. Never are they allowed to play them in a remodel when the owners are home...unless it is very low in the area they are working AND they have the owners permission.
Right now there are 12 women at my house....I have done work for 6 of them...each one would tell you that when I left their homes their houses were cleaner than when I arrived. I have an outstanding reputation...I have to....My dad demanded it when he taught me and my wife has to work with these ladies! HA!! I can yell with the best of them...but there is a time and place for it...not in somebody else's house! RONNI I know this has been hard for you. If $900 makes it all go away forever...I say beg, borrow, steal it....if not I'd ask....I'D!!! DEMAND records before I gave up a nickle! |
ronni, are you sure the funeral cost that much ? Have you seen a bill from the mortician ? How about the florist ? Just a good idea to check before you part with any money and if you do send any money be sure it is documented. Seeing an attorney is not a bad idea. Sorry it has to be this way for you.

Count down 11 days till school starts
and 224 post left here... |
this thread is dying a sloooooooooooooooooooowwwww death
|
Ronni, sorry about the family upsets. I would definitely need to see every scrap of paperwork before shelling out one thin dime to her.
Ruth and Operator, I wish you both peace :yoga: |
