[Hello Nurse]

It has to be said: I LOVE THIS FORUM! I am a part of several other online communities and this one is by far the best. I am on a couple of nursing forums (so, mostly, but not all, women) and people get really catty and downright ugly to each other there. It is difficult to disagree with someone's opinion without resorting to meanness. I am also on some equestrian and horse-related forums, and they are worse! I have left two of them because people are so rude and seem to hide behind their computers and think they can be as ugly as they want because it is anonymous.

I am so grateful for this forum and how supportive and kind everyone is! Even when there are differences in opinions, I have never read a post that I thought, "wow that is really uncalled for". I'm sure there are some out there, but it is certainly not the norm for this group. I just had to say that you all are wonderful, I love you all, and I feel blessed to be a part of this great community!

What are the nursing forums you are on? I am an RN and would love to browse some of them. I agree this is a great place except I spend way too much time here.

The posters here are very respectful, most of the time (and they know that if they're NOT, the MOD SQUAD will be stepping in to cool things down ). It's such a lovely, supportive community, all because it has so many wonderful members - like you and everyone else reading this.

I too quite adore this site. It really keeps me focused and motivated and I don't know where I'd be without it, but I wouldn't have lost 37 pounds, I promise you that!

Well, let's see......at 11:10 I reported a spam post on my diet forum. At 11:14 I check and see it's been removed. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I notice Mandalinn's little egg has a yolk so I think that might be where the thank you goes.

Anyhow, back to my original story.

So, I meet this guy at a restaurant. He was late and had called so I was checking out the forum on my PDA when he got there. I apologized and said, "I had to check in with my Fat Chicks." He goes, "Oh, well isn't that just the most politically correct thing to say." My reply, "Um, yeah, it is the name of the forum. And, just FYI, you get out of line there you will get a boot up your butt in a New York second."

Besides giving me a daily reminder to watch what I'm doing as far as diet and exercise, I'm am actually learning to interact with people better IRL. See, I have been known to be kind of abrasive and tactless(STFU EZ!). Having been active here for a little over a year now, I've started thinking before I open my pie hole and try to keep in mind that I don't have a backspace key or edit button on my mouth. Turns out 3FC has not only made me pay attention to what goes in my mouth, but, I also pay attention to what comes out.

You are all so right. This is an AWSOME site. The people here really care about each other and are always respectful of each others thoughts and feelings. I was away for awhile but in coming back I can see it hasn't changed and is still one of the BEST sites I've found. GO 3 FAT CHICKS!!!!
