Default Hockey Season '08
Okay, I'm lazy and didn't feel like looking for the old thread, so thought I'd start a new one with pre-season games upon us.

I'M GOING TO THE MAPLE LEAFS GAME ON THE 27TH!!!

Anyone else got tickets to go to any games?

I also wanted to show you guys a youtube clip I found from last summer (the bad summer we Sabres fans had, losing Briere and Drury). Its SO funny and I'm SO glad this summer was much less dramatic.

Hey there techie, how are you? I hope you enjoyed the game you attended, and that your guys came through for you! I haven't answered sooner as I was on a trip to Hawaii for 16 days, and not keeping up with the Boards.

Well, the 'Canes already have a slew of injuries, and we're only 4 games into pre-season, for Pete's sake! We managed to win one of them ... against the Flyers. I think we badly need a NEW trainer; we are one of the teams in the NHL with the highest injury rate, and there's gotta be a reason! How are your Sabres doing?

(How is your little one doing at school? I read the other thread that you posted on. Maybe you could P.M. me on that?)

GO HURRICANES!!!

And no more injuries!!!

Techie, where are you? Anybody wanna talk a little hockey? My 'Canes are ready to go against Nashville tonight ... it sure would be nice to win another couple of pre-season games and NOT get any injuries!!!

Happy to see you, techie! Opening game is Friday night ... watching at home on my wide-screen accompanied by sausage sandwiches and Margaritas! We need to punish Florida Panthers for taking us out of the play-offs last year!

I want to go to a bunch of games this year, but the ticket prices got expensive (especially with a little one on they way now) so I will probably only go to a few.

Hi modkittn ... I think a lot of people will not be going to as many games as they'd like this season, what with the economic news so horrible!!! Thank goodness for my HDTV wide-screen, because it's the next best thing to being there. I saw 17 games last season ... but I know that probably isn't happening this year!!!

Congrats on your little one on the way!

Thanks! I feel the same way about my HDTV wide-screen AND they actually broadcast 100% of the Bruins games here. I couldn't imagine living somewhere where they didn't broadcast all of the games! Not that I watch every single one, but DH does. 3 a week is too much for me (I have other things to do!) but I watch about 1 a week.

modkttn, we will get 66 games from FSN, 1 from Versus ... You never know who NBC will cover ... That's several more than we got last year. I watch every game if I can ... I WISH all ours were televised! College basketball and NASCAR are so big here that we lose coverage to them at times.

Detroit lost their first game of the season!!! Way to go, Maple Leafs!!! (Now, the 'Canes have gotta do the same thing to the Red Wings Monday night.)

We may have lost the first, but we won't lose them all! I forecast Lord Stanley residing in the Motor City for two years straight! BTW, I took a picture with the Cup this past week. Pretty cool!
