Going DUTCH ~ each spends their own $$$$
So if I spend, let's say, 500 posts to close a thread....that's cool... Bill may want to spend 600 posts to close a thread...and that too, is cool... but then Ruth may want to shut it down at, let's say, 504..... which makes no sense.... keeping us right on track |

Crisis? What crisis?
This one: Following the problems in the sub-prime lending market in America and the run on Northern Rock in the UK, uncertainty has now hit Japan. In the last 7 days Origami Bank has folded, Sumo Bank has gone belly up and Bonsai Bank announced plans to cut some of its branches. Yesterday, it was announced that Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go for a song while today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived. While Samurai Bank are soldiering on following sharp cutbacks, Ninja Bank are reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black. Furthermore, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at Sushi Bank where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal I had a cheque returned earlier. "Insufficient Funds" Mine or the banks? Quote of the day (from a trader): "This is worse than a divorce. I've lost half my net worth and I still have a wife." Q: Why are all MBAs going back to school? A: To ask for their money back. And especially for Gary: If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have $16.50 left of the original $1000. With WorldCom, you would have less than $5.00 left. If you had purchased $1000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left. If you had purchased United Airlines, you would have nothing left. But, if you had purchased $1000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, and then turned in the cans for recycling, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. This is called the 401-Keg Plan. |
Have not been around here much but just wanted to say I am delighted that April is gone!
AND I am darned gad that I ditched my Nortel four years ago! |

Alright, so I haven't quit smoking. OK. Bite me! I hate my freaking job. Now, they don't even try to get us out of there on time. Yesterday, they didn't send the buses till way late and I was there till 7:30. That's a 13 hour day. I didn't even get home in time to take my DD to school. Thank Gawd when I fell asleep last nite it was in line at a shovel rather than heading down the 10% at 20 miles an hour.
I'm getting way sick over the way things are going on Blast Crew. We are having missed holes found about once a week. They are being found by shovel hands as they dig. Dear Lord, if one of those guys doesn't see it until he digs in and sets off a spark, it is all over for him. We put as much in one hole as was used in Oklahoma City. Can you imagine if that went off in someone's face from 20 feet away? It would probably kill the truck driver too, even with the rear of the truck to it.:( When I think about it before bed, I ask God, in the event of a catastrophe, to please take me out b/c I couldn't live with knowing someone else was killed b/c of all this. DD, oh yeah, well things aren't going so great there. Hates school. Hates me not being home, especially on graves. Just generally not a happy girl, which makes me not a happy Mom. I'm quitting my job and going back to school for accounting. I'm a little scared, but I'll be OK. I've gone thru scarier and have made it. Sorry to be so long a dreary, but this here is basically my "Web Home" and you freaks my "Web Family", so y'all get stuck with it. :p:lol: |
