First - no one got hurt.

A man, who looked around 50 years old, waited in line. He presented a hand-written note to the male teller that asked for money but stipulated no one's. The teller asked "are you serious?" The robber said "don't make me hurt you." The teller gave the man a stack of money with a GPS hidden in the stack. The teller didn't know if the man put it in a bag. The robber left with his note and made off in a Honda civic. No one was hurt. The police officer showed the teller a print out picture of a man, the teller said that was the man.

I didn't see ANYTHING. As much as I love CSI and COPS and L&O, I missed everything, I was sitting with my back to the tellers! My statement to the police officer "I didn't see anything." While I'm of course, very glad no one was hurt, it was a little disappointing!

Apparently, it has been 10 years since that branch has been robbed. Anyone else in the San Diego area - I wonder if it will be on the news tonight? No news crews showed up before I left.

Wow, Glory! It's funny how situations like that present themselves so differently in real life.

I work in the restaurant business and have been in locations that were robbed three times, once I was the manager on duty at the time and had to tell the guy the safe was time delayed and couldn't open after 5 so all I could give him was the $83 in change out of the drawers. It was in 1996 and to this day I can still see him in my head clear enough to give a description to a sketch artist if I had to... I also got robbed at the drug store where I worked in high school. Scary scary stuff. I'm glad you are okay, and more glad that you didn't see anything and didn't get drawn into it. That kind of thing sticks with you a long time...

goodness.I always complain about how boring my life is.....Not anymore.Glad you are ok, as well as everyone else.Scary with economy right now.Am sure statistics on theft and robery are increasing.

San Diego police said they are chasing a possible bank robber at this hour throughout the north eastern section of the city.

The chase started at about 6 p.m. in the Ranch Bernardo area and has headed south to the Kearny Mesa area.

Police: Robbery suspect caught after chase
San Diego police & the California Highway Patrol have arrested a possible bank robber that led police on a chase for about half-an-hour through the northeastern section of the city.

The chase started at about 6 p.m. in the Ranch Bernardo area. It headed south into Kearny Mesa, then east near Tierrasanta before the man was arrested near Miramar. The man drove in the opposite direction on several roads and freeways, according to authorities.

People are getting crazier with each day!
They can not learn to live on less ...And they are going crazy~robbing/killing/shooting.....And so on.
I Am so thankful I have always been Poor.(Because I can live Cheaply)
I Have paid my bills/Got groceries And I have 50 Dollars on me 30 in my bank~a total of 80 bucks for the rest of the month.(My hubby is on disablity)
I always Make the best of everything~Some people feel broke if they do not have a thousand or more on them at all times.

Wow, glad no one was hurt. So any news if they caught him?

Glad everyone was okay. The economy is just bad. A couple weeks ago a woman here robbed a local store and the whole time she was holding the gun on the cashier she was shaking and saying, "I'm so sorry." I guess she had kids to feed and couldn't.

It appears they did catch him!

CARMEL MOUNTAIN — A suspected bank robber who led police on a lengthy chase throughout northeastern San Diego Friday evening is in custody.
San Diego police said the man is believed to have presented a note demanding cash to a teller at the Bank of America on Carmel Mountain Road near Highland Ranch Road about 5:40 p.m.
Officers spotted him driving a silver Honda Civic a few blocks away and followed the vehicle. The chase, which lasted about 30 minutes, wound through surface streets and freeways from Rancho Peñasquitos to as far south as Kearny Mesa and east into Tierrasanta. Speeds reached 100 mph and he drove the wrong way on several streets and freeways.
The pursuit ended when a Highway Patrol officer bumped the Honda, causing it to spin out on a ramp on state Route 163 at Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, police said.
No accidents or injuries were reported.

Unfortunately, I think we're going to be hearing more and more of this. People are getting really desperate. The crime rate is going to soar. So incredibly scary what's happening all around us.

I'm in coastal North County. Wow, I heard nothing about that until now. I'm glad you are ok.
