I spent alot of time single on Valentines Day, if it fell on a weekend, I would get up[, go for a 10 k run (it was meditative and felt awesome afterwards) and then I'd skip all the chocolate crap and go out for dinner/drinks/dancing with my other single girlfriends, we'd all whine and moan about the lack of good men in the world and cheer ourselves on about how fabulous we were and that none of us "needed" men in our lives to be complete. I'm married now and I still think Valentine's day is an over-rated, over-commercialized day.

Always been single on Valentine's day...though I have had secret admirers dote on me and only months later would I find out who it was. Was kind of a nice surprise. :)
This year will be no different. I'll probably get my friends some candies and cards...and have some candy hearts for myself. :p
One thing that's a bit difficult is my closest friend is now dating the man who professed his affection for me a month ago (and I in turn felt the same). One day, he just stopped talking to me :?:. I considered him a close friend and didn't want to jeopardize that...now that he's dating my roomie, well...our friendship just isn't the same. Number 1, it's awkward because of what happened to us. Number 2, whenever he's around, I can't just be friends with him like before- he'll always be with her. It's complicated by the fact that it's a long distance thing...and he's visiting this weekend, meaning I won't get to see him at all, despite the fact that he's in the next room. Besides that, I don't really want to see their "affections" for each other.
I'm hurt- but not because I wish he were mine. Because it has completely changed our friendship.
WOAH NELLY. Didn't mean to get so in depth there. Alas, it's life, and I'll be completely fine, just something I couldn't avoid thinking about- I haven't been able to tell a single soul about it, so here's my little vent. :D

I'd just stay home and rent a movie and have a nice long bubble bath.

holy crap, i' don't think i've ever been single on vday! (not when it meant romance and bla bla bla anyway) if i WAS single though, i'd be going OUT! the bar with some girlfriends or by myself or whatever. i'm the kind of person that just likes to be OUT though and can make friends wherever i am :D
