Default Don't let Size necessarily dictate your success

Years ago after I lost all of my weight, I started off as a 14/15 Jr. my friend that weighed 10 pounds more wore a size smaller. That still holds true today. I have friends that are leaner some are larger and yet the sizes are all over the board. I'm quick to remind my clients to be careful about trying to reach a certain size as every designer, manufacturer sizes clothes differently.

Congrats on your success so far!

I'm female (obviously), just turned 23, over 5'6" but under 5'7", around 135 pounds, and what size I wear REALLY depends on the designer! I shop in SO many different places and not all sizes were created equal.

I wear a 5-7 in most juniors things (occasionally a 9) and Pac Sun stuff. I wear a 4 in Abercrombie & Fitch, a 6 in American Eagle, a 4 (sometimes a 6) in Gap, a 27 in Silver, a 28 in 7 for All Mankind, a 3-5 in Wet Seal, and *GASP* a TWO in Banana Republic and NY&CO. HOWEVER, due to all the muscle mass in my legs (and trust me, I see striations, so it IS muscle), it can be tough finding pants that fit me sometimes -- on certain occasions, I have to buy bigger sizes just to get 'em over my legs. I've bought 8's, 10's, and even 11's that fit just fine in certain places.

I agree about not letting size dictate your success. I have plenty of friends who "appear" to be "fatter" than I am yet they wear smaller sizes. I've never been below a 2-4 even at my TINIEST (105-115 range for awhile -- I looked like a junkie and was very unhealthy, I also had perpetual dark circles and sunken eyes) because my hips and bone structure just won't allow it.

42 Femme
5'2
190 lbs.
16 (but they are loose)

Some clothing stores / lines (like NY and Company) have vanity sizing where the tag says 14 but the clothes are actually cut for a 16 or 18, etc.

And then there is the issue of the cut of certain tops. I wear an extra large right now in order to fit around my midsection but the shoulder and chest sections are hopelessly large. Not enough boob and too much belly.

Female, 22, 5'1 and 183ibs. I wear size 14 at Old Navy, but I think they put smaller size labels on bigger pants. At Torrid, um...size 14 for my Torrid brand capris and dickies brand jeans. I have size 16 jeans from New York and Co. BUT I bought them last year and I think they only fit because they're stretched out from wearing them. :/

Napalmtree....I actually giggled at your avatar.

I am 28 years young.
I am 270ish...haven't weighed myself on a good scale in a while.
I am 5'5".
I wear a 23 in Levi Strauss...24 or 22 in other pants. 24 is my biggest.
Bra size is 44 H. Yeah...that's where a lot of weight is.
I have an hourglass shape...if the guy who blew the hourglass sneezed while he was blowing into the pipe.

hmm, I'm the same height as you. When I weighed 240ish pounds I wore size 20s-22s. I noticed our goal weights are different, you'll probably be the size I want to be when you are 160. Shows how different we all are.
