Nope, Al, I haven't been to the ward, but I've heard all about the "funeral potatoes". Who in the world came up with the idea of putting corn flakes on mashed potatoes.
After my papa's funeral Mom and I were exhausted. Catholics seem to have really gone overboard with funerals. We had the rosary the night before. I had never heard "speed prayer" before, but that priest spit out the full rosary in about 2 min. Then, on the day of the funeral, we had the mass. I went mental during
Ava Maria. I totally soaked the front of Mom's outfit bawling.

Next, we went to the cemetery for for the military rites. Then, headed home and passed out. Everyone else came over for the dinner, but, somehow the lasagna got locked in a car truck. Turns out all **** was breaking loose and Mom and I were sound asleep thru the entire ordeal.
Baptists, well, we either go to the church or funeral home for a brief farewell. Then, to the graveside for a quick prayer. Then, off to dinner. Bing, Boom, Bam!!! He's gone, so long, LET'S EAT!!
