  • I think it's been above freezing for over a day here. I don't even need to clean off my car!
  • Hungry Moon tonight. What can I eat!

Freezing rain was predicted so my car spent the night in the barn. It needs a good rain to wash off the winter crud. I know there's more to come but am enjoying our January thaw that got moved into February. Who's in charge of Winter this year?
  • I am certainly not in charge of winter or it would go away. Actually it wasn't bad here. We had a rain/snow mix and the mountains are getting hammered with snow. That's the way it should be. Keep it all up there!
  • We had above freezing weather 2 days in a row here... now it is all going down hill and we'll be back in the low numbers and I am sure snow will atop the lovely slush we now have.
  • Was definatly a slippery walk & drive around here today! Looks like we are getting more. ugh
  • It rained all day yesterday and we're surrounded by snow today. Bright, sunny and clear and all the mountains are white. Very beautiful!

Operator~it appears you haven't made it to the local Ward! My DH had to go to his grandfather's funeral in Idaho and afterwards the Relief Society put on a luncheon for all the funeral go-ers. Complete with multiple dishes of potatoes (it was Idaho) and jello (it was Mormon). DH and his parents had to escape to a friend's house for "beverages" afterwards!
  • Not a busy post today- huh!?!?

Was out all morning, just came home. Need to relax a bit before hititng the laundry pile. Oh how I wonder why it piles so high, if I do it nearly everyday. It isn't like we have a family of 12... that and the kiddies clothes are small. That and the pile of mismatched socks have been staring at me. I think they want to go back to their homes... the sock drawers. They mustn't (sp?) like my company.... hehehehe.

Do you ever open the fridge or cabinets and not find anything good to eat? You have full a full fridge and cabinets but nothing looks good to snack on. Well that is me. I want a snack. The tangerine wasn't enough. Anyone have anything good you all care to share...
  • Pear Freak, I have some nice ham and cheese and could make you a sandwich on rye bread. I did have a pear but it was all rotten in the middle when I cut into it. Are you feeling OK?
  • Ham and cheese on rye... sounds good. It is just the whole making of it that I don't want to do. I am ok, not as full of energy and glee as usual, but still chugging along. I think I may make myself some oatmeal? I dunno yet?

A bad Pear!! Eeepers... you shan't not waste pears. Eat them up... well not that one apprently.
  • I had no internet for a few hours!

Personal camcorders are perfect for recording family memories. Babies first birthday, babies first day of school, babies first drug trip. Honestly, this video is so adorable. I can't stop watching it. He's just like a college kid on mushrooms, but cuter!

  • Nope, Al, I haven't been to the ward, but I've heard all about the "funeral potatoes". Who in the world came up with the idea of putting corn flakes on mashed potatoes.

After my papa's funeral Mom and I were exhausted. Catholics seem to have really gone overboard with funerals. We had the rosary the night before. I had never heard "speed prayer" before, but that priest spit out the full rosary in about 2 min. Then, on the day of the funeral, we had the mass. I went mental during Ava Maria. I totally soaked the front of Mom's outfit bawling. Next, we went to the cemetery for for the military rites. Then, headed home and passed out. Everyone else came over for the dinner, but, somehow the lasagna got locked in a car truck. Turns out all **** was breaking loose and Mom and I were sound asleep thru the entire ordeal.

Baptists, well, we either go to the church or funeral home for a brief farewell. Then, to the graveside for a quick prayer. Then, off to dinner. Bing, Boom, Bam!!! He's gone, so long, LET'S EAT!!
