I was three years old! One of the earliest memories I have was when I was three. I picked my mom a bouquet of strawberry flowers! We were living in "the valley", the Sumner Valley that is, in Washington, near Tacoma. The soil is peat. My grandfather threw down a cigarette and caught the ground on fire. It burned for weeks and my dad kept trying to dig it up and put it out.
