Oh, I asked for a microplane box grater. I already have the zesters...but I'm coveting the box grater.

I could use more silpats as well.

I also want a tomato knife.

I already had an ice cream maker on the list - I listed the Cuisinart automatic ice cream maker..anybody have any experience with it? Any other suggestions? I considered the kitchenaid version that attaches to the stand mixer.

DH is going to be happy that he can do all my birthday/x-mas shopping in one swoop to BBB.

Without reading everyone's posts..

I swapped my george foreman grill for a toaster oven that also doubles as a broiler, a conventional oven, a regular oven and a toaster oven! This thing saved me heating up the house with the regular oven more times than not! I love it! It only cost a couple hundred at BBB but well worth every cent!

Also I would love a food processor, only to make some of the recipe's in south beach forums! ;)

ooh yeah that reminds me - toaster oven and food processor! i am sick to death of spending money on a toaster that never really toasts right & then dies in a couple of years. Doesn't seem to matter what brand or how much I spend either. Toaster oven when this one finally dies.

The thing I love about my toaster oven is that it's just big enough to bake 4 muffins at a time, or a small chicken, or 2 pieces of fish, or whatever.

I rarely rarely rarely turn on my big oven any more. I think the last time was when I baked a double batch of muffins to take to the office. Other than that, I do most of my baking and broiling in my toaster oven. It saves energy and it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen! :)

how about some sexy new dinner plates or serving dishes and swanky glasses?

I don't own these, but they've got to be the CUTEST leftover containers:

I agree with the need for good knives
I have at least 6 cutting boards of different sizes and materials
A zester is very handy

I have a vitamix which is fun but not a must have. I also have a magic bullet which is great for things such as making hummus and also personal smoothies.

I love my toaster oven. I find I use my toaster oven more than my regular oven because it is so easy and versatile. I have a 2 layer one which is nice.

Good knives are definitely a must. As well as decent cutting boards. I use bamboo (and don't prep raw food so no worries about that)

Rice cooker - I love, you can make grains, beans and other stuff in it.

I also love my crockpot for making beans, soups and other stuff.

Pressure cooker is nice (stainless steel). My pressure cooker came with a regular glass lid as well which is nice for when I want to cook stuff without pressure. Also good cookware is a must. I have Le Creuset stuff as well as good stainless steel cookware. I also have just a regular cast iron skillet I use.

I have the 2qt Cuisinart. I love it! My only suggestions are to keep the bowl in the freezer and some recipes do need to freeze longer then the recipes say. So freeze based on texture not time. Freeze the bowl, at least, 24 hours before making the first batch too.

Someone mentioned new dinnerware, so I went to amazon to search for the set I bought this year, and LOVE (As do everyone that sees it), but it's unavailable! :(

I would like to get some corelle plates for everyday use. Now that DS is getting a little older he wants his own plate and...well...breaks them once in awhile. Thankfully the set we've been using for everyday was from Big Lots like...8 years ago and was really cheap. Lori, how have yours held up? They need to be able to hold up to a two year old banging on them with silverware.

I could also use some new - or rather, more place sittings in our formal dining ware as well.

I found some awesome platters at Williams Sonoma and a shop here in town.

DH is going to faint when he sees this list.

Loriann7 09-26-2008 04:00 PM

Zeff, my first set of correlle I picked up when I was pregnant, They survived twenty years with me, and I retired them to my sister who has three kids and a husband that bang them pretty good. She is absolutely in love with them! The only reason I moved on was because I was tired of the blue velvet design!

This set is awesome! As you see from the pic they didn't have cereal bowls so I combined this and ordered the Carousel bowls (just the bowls) and they match up pretty well! As I said, everyone that sees them loves them! :)

Loriann7 09-26-2008 04:02 PM

Zeff, a nice place to order corelle, for cheaper, is amazon. Trust me, I searched for DAYS! Found them to be the cheapest, and had a good selection!

zeffryn 09-26-2008 04:05 PM

I found some great ones on Amazon. They would be perfect for everyday use and inexpensive enough not to worry if one breaks.
