Alas, you would remember Bill Buckner. If memory serves me, he was a Los Angeles Dodger before he played for the Boston Red Sox. He threw out the first pitch this very spring at our opening game at Fenway Park. Yep, he did. Some 22 years later. Got a long long standing ovation from the home crowd, some of whom weren't yet born in 1986.
1986 ... 1986 ... That's all behind us now. Had such high hopes of meeting you guys for the world series. Sigh.
How's your contract negotiations going with Mr. Scott Boras and his man Manny?
Thanks Bill...I knew that...the offer for Manny is on the table...it is just enough to make the DODGERS look respectable and NOT have to sign him because he won't accept a 2 year deal. Billy Bucks was my fav. player for a long time years ago.
Aah - well now you have the picture, which is worth a thousand words... not a thousand dollars like what many people spend on brand name shoes and accessories.
Same with all the guys at work. You can always tell which ones are bald(ing) b/c the ball cap is right next to there hard hat when they take it off so as not to let anyone see the "glow".
My X and I use to play Hat or No Hat with country music stars. Mention a name and the other person had to remember if they wear a cowboy hat or not. Then we started following it up with Bald or Not Bald to see if we could figure out which ones wore it for image and which wore it for coverage.
