Maybe they think after 500 posts -- a thread has pretty much "said all it can say" -- but not this one.

However, just thought of something -- I would feel bad for all of you who are putting so much effort into "being the thread killer here" if it's a newbie on their 3rd post that actually kills it on you

Maybe someone should mention this thread over in introductions. Trying to be the thread killer might help prevent people from developing fears of threadkilling.

So now we are more than halfway.

We close a thread at 500 because it takes too long to load for folks who have dial-up.
However, we COULD close it at any time.
