  • Two bright moments:

    1. VERY early this morning, while I was still in bed, I guess I must have been only half-asleep, but I felt my fiance lean over and give me a kiss as I slept. Awwwww! I don't remember if I reacted to him at all bc I was still 90% asleep, but I do remember it.

    2. It was a BEEEEEAUTIFUL day today weather-wise and at 4:00 I left my office to get a organic vegan berry protein shake from Candle Cafe near my job.

Quote: What was the brightest moment of your day, today?
  • I opened wedding presents with my new husband and we made it home before Denver shut down for the speech (bonus!)
  • i came down with a cold today, so my brightest moment was getting my meds from the pharmacy! And also being paid for the first time in months, that was cool
  • Gatorgal - Being greeted at home by our dearest ones is such a relieving thing. To be able to let it all go and just be home.

KLK - Awwwww that is such a cutie-husband moment!

Junebug - That's a really special time to have with your husband. And I can't wait to do the same with my soon-to-be.

Ghost - I hope the cold's lessened by now! And definitely Yay for money!
  • Jen -- Congrats to you!! Tomorrow is my 11th anniversary (already!!) -- enjoy it, it's a great trip

Brightest moment today (love this thread!!) -- getting the call that I got the job at the insurance company that came out of the blue in the first place -- with the hours 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. so I can get my kids on and off the bus After 9 years of staying at home with them, I'm not ready to completely give them up yet!!
  • My happiest moment was going to a coffeehouse for my Friday takeout triple shot this morning. The building is 150 years old (love old buildings), the place smells awesome, the sun was pouring on the wide planked hardwood floors and the tin ceiling tiles were gorgeous. While I was waiting one of my favorite tunes came on. Perfect!
  • Quote: When one of the teachers in my training session shouted out, "you look freakin' FANTASTIC!"

Then the staff began clapping and cheering. It left me speechless (which is really - very hard to do).
You deserved every bit of it!

I am soooooooooo HAPPY for you!

SHELBY what a great tribute to your son's mom!
  • Thanks for the well wishes, guys! Today we went through our whole kitchen and purged the mismatched dishes, plastic college cups, and the old toaster and coffee maker and replaced them with shiny new things Shelby, enjoy your anniversary!
  • What was the brightest moment of your day, today?

The brightest moment of my day was when I was able to say that all 3 of my children are out of the house until tomorrow!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!
  • I had a few bright moments today ~

A great walk with my wife and dogs for coffee this morning

New tires for my truck at Costco

A great USC game while my son and I texted back and forth as we watched from different places

A new BBQ place for dinner....had catfish and gumbo

My daughter calling to say she was coming up to go to church with me tomorrow...unfortunately we were at church when she called...decided to go tonight

She is coming up Labor Day now instead

My Dodgers won after 8 straight losses

It has been a good day
  • My hubby got up with the baby this morning so that I could sleep in. Ahhhh....it was nice.
  • I had a couple of good experiences today:

When my friend and I went shopping at Reitman's (women's clothing store for those unfamiliar) and I found a cute pair of jeans on sale for $6, which were further on sale at the counter...I wound up getting them for $3! Two years ago, I couldn't even find anything to fit me in this store (I used to wear size 26, and I think 22 was their highest size). I can now get on a pair of size 12 jeans without lying down or holding in my breath, and these jeans were a size 11...I figure I should fit into them before too long, and at $3 I couldn't resist!

I had surgery about a month ago and have been trying to build up my strength. I started walking four days after and have been building up my endurance, and got back into jogging again. I completed the "Couch to 5K" program before surgery, and as soon as I felt able, I re-started the program at week 1, just to start off easy and go from there. I used it only a couple of times and this evening just jogged to music on my iPod, and managed to jog 40 minutes. That was the longest I've jogged yet without stopping...I couldn't help but be a little proud of myself!
  • WTG Ookpik!!!!
  • Taking my 2 1/2 year old niece on walks while we were camping last week - she kept looking around and saying over and over and over "This is great! This is great! This is great!" And waking up every morning to see her 7 month old sister grinning at me. I'm such a twitterpated auntie.
  • Thanks Operator!
