My SIL, who is 58, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last week. She is starting chemo this week. They are doing some aggressive treatments on her. She needs to put on some weight because chemo takes it out of you. She's always exercised and eaten right. This is such a shock to the family. Poor boobalah is really beside himself.
My other request is for my friend. She has a caregiver for her elderly mother. They guy announced last night that the mother has invited him to move into the spare bedroom. Cathy, my friend, noticed this morning that he seemed to be touching mom in some inappropriate ways. Cathy is somewhat naive and I'm hoping she'll lean heavily on our mutual friend and me as well. I went through getting care for boobalah's dad and I do know some things to look out for. I told Sherry, our mutual friend, that she needs to get mom to the dr and have a pelvic exam on mom. If there are any signs of distress there, to have the dr call the police right then and there and have a rape kit done. This guy bathes mom and does everything for her. She has alzheimer's, is blind, hard of hearing and generally frail. I told them that they cannot sit on this and they have to get that guy out of there NOW!
Wow. Only you know what is truly going on here with mom and her houseguest. I pray that nothing is going on, but if there is please find a way to stop it NOW. Protect this mother where she may not be able to protect herself and please let your presence be known to the family.
Also, father, I pray for health for the family. It is never easy watching someone we love struggle through an illness and I pray that you give this family peace - peace in your love.
Heavenly Father, we ask that you be with Mare's SIL and family and her friend Cathy and her mom as they suffer through these days. We ask that your healing be upon them quickly and your will be done...In Jesus' Name, Amen.
