  • Can anyone recommend of a good bookstand that will sit comfortably onto a treadmill? Is it a good investment, and does it really work with paperbacks, or do you have to have something else to hold the pages down?
  • I never knew there was such a thing. I just googled it. Too bad they don't turn the page for you!
  • I just recently found out about it myself to be honest!
  • I've seen them offered on treadmills for sale. Personally, I can't read and walk on the treadmill. I guess my eyes jiggle too much
  • I'm with Suzanne - I can't read and run. Good luck though! Try Amazon - they sell everything! (I say that because I was shocked to see that you can buy 'newspaper holders' (which also work for books) that attach to your steering wheel.... surely that's a bad idea??
  • Have you thought of trying books on tape? (CD)?

I never thought of it till now
  • Newspaper holders for your steering wheel??!! Goodness, what were they thinking???

Books on tape is not feasible for me because I'm deaf.
  • I don't want to be a party pooper, but I read somewhere (online) that it is not recommended to read a mag while exercising. It is believed that it distracts you from doing the exercise (regardless whether a bike, a treadmill, what have you) properly.
I don't have to worry about this myself because I am sure I would fall off the treadmill.
  • These days, everything is bad for ya. Still, I like to try this out since I'm having trouble motivating myself just to even get on the treadmill.
  • Why not have an ocean wave cd playing in the background. This helps better to concentrate

    Oops, I didn't know.

Yeah I guess that could pose a problem
  • Oh my gosh! Here is a link to the amazing steering wheel paper/book/computer holder! Who knew such things existed?
  • Atleast they put "This product is not intended to be used while driving."
On the treadmill I use at the gym there is like a tray thing below the display thingy, if yours has that would you be able to rest a cookbook stand on it? Just an idea! I always plug into my iPod in the gym as i like to be distracted but i know thats unfortunately no use for you. I've seen people prop up newspapers and magazines on the treadmills, not books though, are you not able to hold it and read? I know if i tried that i'd most definately fall off! Still, why not look at a cookbook stand?
  • Great for painting while driving, February 24, 2008

I use it for holding the large painting easels I use to paint while I drive. Sure, my visibility is reduced by 100%, but all great artists suffer for their work.

What got me was this second review for the steering wheel product!!!!! (From Amazon)
  • I have since gone on Amazon and bought a plastic bookstand meant for the treadmill. Whether or not it works is something else, so I'll post back on this whenever I try it out sometime this week.
