Favorite player...hmmmm... I would have to say Ozzie Smith. I grew up with him playing for the cards. I also think he is just a really nice guy.

I am with everyone on the Barry Bonds issue. Cannot stand him. I also cannot stand Derek Jeter. He is a great player, but seems very snobby/standoffish to me. Dont like the attitude.

OH MY GOSH! My feelings exactly! I've NEVER liked him!!! I actually drafted him for my fantasy team 3 years ago (I think 3...). It went against every fiber of my being to do it...but I did. And that was the year he started the season batting lik .174!!! What an A$$! hahaha I'm sure he did it just to make it even worse on me for drafting him in the first place! Besides...has anyone noticed that he unfastens and refastens the velcro on his batting gloves about a MILLION times per at bat???? Man, he drives me nuts!

Really, I just don't like the Yankees at ALL! My heart is sad the Mienkiewicz went to them this year. I know he isn't the best....but for the Royals he was a great defensive player at 1st and we needed any hitting we could get...even if it was just slapping. Oh well...

One final thing I'd like to bring up today....Mienkiewicz brought it to mind because he ALWAYS wears short pants. I LOVE short baseball pants and I can't understand why they aren't the standard anymore. There isn't much that drives me crazier about baseball unis than the stupid baggy pants that hang on their cleats! (Well, the vest thing is pretty bad, too...but the baggy pants win out on gross baseball attire!) I think short pants should be the new rule!

My DH just put in for his vacation time. Hopefully it will get approved..we're planning on going to Tampa (4 hr drive) to see the Sox play! Can't wait!! Unfortunately I HAVE to wait 'til July

Oh, by the way Gary; I'm 'sort of' a Dodgers fan . Jacksonville's AA team, the Jax Suns, is a farm team of the Dodgers. It's the closest we get to pro baseball around here, but it's great. The games are relatively cheap, the park is really nice, and the team has been finishing at or near the top of the Southern league .

P.S. We just bought the DVD of 'Field of Dreams'..my favorite movie. I'm waiting 'til the day before opening day to watch it

I love that movie JOANNE ~ also The Natural and of course Angie's all time favorite (just about) movie, Bull Durham.....
