Yes and no. I am one of those of the hyphenated era. I am also one of 7 girls in my family of no boys, so we wanted to keep our family name alive too. I use my hyphenated name on legal documents and sometimes just my husband's last name on other things. It also depends on how I'm feeling about him at the time

A lot of women keep using their maiden names since they may already have been established in their professions, and I think that's just fine.
